Welcome to the human race...
Anyone care to guess exactly how many of those movies were made in the past 10 years?

I'm guessing it's at least 50 or 60.

If i felt compelled to post further response here, this would have been part of it. What's more disturbing is, i'd say at least 95% are Hollywood productions. I can understand a lot of the choices, if they were guilty pleasures amongst a variety of films instead of primarily cash cows.

Never, I thought the 28 weeks was much better than 28 days. I found 28 days took allong time to get in to the film. The music is better on the first but 28 weeks IMO is a superior film.
Personally, i prefer Weeks to Days but your argument is weak, my friend. It is the same music in both- East Hastings by 'Godspeed You! Black Emperor'. Further, i would say that the opening sequence of Weeks is one of the strongest in recent memory, especially with that particular song.

I mean why do you think those are so great?
I get the feeling you don't like most of the movies on the list, fine, its your opinion. But if you look at this movie list you will notice they are mainly very popular movies. The reason why these movies are popular is because they were good, i mean why would a movie that is bad be popular?

By logic that means that Titanic is the best movie ever made...

I think the issue here is purely a matter of taste.

N3wt's favourites are nearly all mainstream Hollywood movies, but that's his choice, and he's free to make it. I don't think it's fair to berate him over it, just as it's not fair to berate someone over wearing a Linkin Park t-shirt. I don't like N3wt's list, but it's just a matter of personal taste, if N3wt likes these films and enjoys them, then good luck to him.

I don't subscribe to popularity equating quality though. Most people are just happy to swallow what is dished out by Hollywood, most of which is garbage. People either haven't got the time, are too lazy, or lack the imagination to scratch below the surface. That to me is a real shame, because most of the dumbed down movies that pass for mainstream cinema are second rate. The fact is, look a little harder, and more often than not, you'll find something a lot better.

Other people want an explosion or brutal killing every five minutes, and don't accept special effects unless they're computer generated. The same people don't like films that are more than fifteen years old, fifteen also being their own mental age. Some people wont entertain subtitles, and don't want anything that moves them on an intellectual or emotional level. That to me suggests either immaturity, low intelligence, or both. You see a lot of people don't want to think when they watch a movie, because they see thinking as work not entertainment.

I like horror/action movies just as much as the next man, but the thought of watching only those types of films all the time...no thanks. That would be narrow minded ignorance. There's more to human beings (and film) than watching gruesome violence carried out by knife wielding idiots. There is beauty, nature, love, debate, intrigue, and these things are a lot more interesting, and satisfying. You just have to give them a chance.

I think there is a diffrence between popularity and a "good" movie.

Movies such as Terminator 2 were not "good" in terms of a critics view but they were popular. Movies such as No Country for Old Men were not very popular (eg. movies such as T2 beat them in box office sales) but were "good".

Personaly i like popular movies over "good" movies. And i think most people would agree but opinion varys though.

\m/ Fade To Black \m/
I think the films that ive chosen for my top 100 list are all great. IMO they are amazing films, Ive spent ages on my list and think its all good but I can see why people whould not like most of the films as im a massive fan of blockbusters and modern horror/action. I also think its great that people argue over my points and my choices. Thats what its all about on here, everyone has an opinion and good points to make. Everyone is friends here and its fun its not malicus at all its just fun.

IMO I think 28 weeks is allot better than days, as ive said about the start of days it is only a small problem that I thought about it, apart from that it is a awsome film but weeks is better. I tottally agree about the music it did create suspence and I can see where the director was at when he was showing the city empty but it just seemed like it was going on forever that is my opinion.

I love the horror/action genre as much as anyone but I also enjoy all types of films. I enjoy all films but the films in my list are my favorites of all time.

Ireally cant see the problem with most of these films if they have been made in the last 10 years if I think they are awsome then IMO they are.

Welcome to the human race...
Also, n3wt, I have one other thing to ask - you have a lot of films on there that also have remakes of the same name (e.g. Psycho, Dawn of the Dead, King Kong, etc). If it's not too much trouble, can you indicate which ones are originals and which ones are remakes?

Understandable. I might have just looked at the posts the wrong way.
