1933 Classic 'King Kong' Arriving November 22nd

Warner Home Video has announced the DVD release of the original 1933 classic King Kong. Featuring a newly restored and digitally mastered transfer , the DVD will available as a two-disc special edition for a SRP of $26.99.


DVD Details:
  • audio commentary with effects masters Ray Harryhausen and Ken Ralston
  • "RKO Production 601: The Making of Kong, the Eighth Wonder of the World" (a two-hour, seven-part documentary created by Peter Jackson)
  • a feature-length documentary on 'Kong' creator Merian C. Cooper

A 'Collector's Edition' box set will be available as well, and will arrive in a collectible tin with a SRP of $39.98. It will come packaged with the following:
  • 20-page reproduction of the original 1993 souvenir program
  • King Kong original poster
  • art postcards
  • mail-in offer for a vintage theatrical poster


Plus, Warner will release a four-disc collector set featuring the previously mentioned two-disc King Kong along with The Son of Kong and Mighty Joe Young. The SRP of the set set is $39.92.




Just curious, but does this movie delve into the male vs. female ring a bit too much? I mean that as a good thing, I think.
