Best (Worst) Movie Deaths

Tools

Hey what are your favourite/ most disturbing/most upsetting movie death scenes?
Here's a few of mine

Decapitation by side board in High Tension (Switchblade Romance)

The Rack from Saw 3

Toxic waste guy from Robocop

Murphy's death in Robocop

Spiders death in Goodfellas

the best was in American History X, BITE THE CURB MOTHER****ER!

no just kidding =P.

the ending of Godfather Part 3 when Michael Corleone dies.

That has got to be the worst death so far...he doesn't even die!

but every time he looks at Frodo that one last time(but not really)
and whispers "Fly you fools!" it gets me here.

Then the OST kicks in and everybody breaks down save stoic Aragorn.

"Give them a moment for pity's sake!" -Boromir
"By nightfall these hills will be swarming with orcs!"

I do love that sequence. I really really do. It gives me a warm fuzzy feeling in my soul. It gives me a soul boner.

Well I thought it was fairly moving in the book, but I thought the film rather overdid the 'apparent death and resurrection' thing - Aragorn gets one, Frodo gets at least one...

The Wachowski brothers seem to have a thing for their characters spitting out lines and lines of monologue just moments before they die. The Wachowskis didn’t come up with this, but they’ve used it a lot lately, and it seems they don’t quite understand that you can't speak for 10 minutes if you've got steel bars coming out of you, or if you've been shot approximately 300 times.

If the director tries too hard to make me sad with someone's death, he's not going to succeed by having the character exclaim pages of larger-than-life monologue. Even if I liked the character up to that point, I feel like it would be best for the story and for my patience if the character would simply drop dead. He fought against oppressive and discriminatory government? That's cool, but I don't need to listen to your Shakespearean monologue. He fought to save the mankind? Sorry man, I respect that, but please die already.

Keeping it simple is no longer an option for some movie makers. Maybe they should check out movies like The Departed to see that they don't need to be overly dramatic to be poignant.

Haunted Heart, Beautiful Dead Soul
1. sal mineo--tragic deja vu--in rebel without a cause
2. steel magnolias- just watching a mother watch her daughter leave this earth and no words spoken ( i am probaly gonna get blasted for this)
3. my life--the whole movie
4. legends of the fall--when samuel dies and his brother stands watching helpless

That American History X scene haunts my dreams!

Although he survived it in the movie, I liked watching Kevin Kline getting pressed into the cement by the steam-roller piloted by Michael Palin in A Fish Called Wanda. But Christopher Lloyd put more horror and pathos into the same sort of death when as Judge Doom a steam-roller presses his toon-character down into the paint-remover and he gest swirled down the drain in Who Framed Roger Rabbit? Of course, Kermit narrowly escaped a similar death by steam-roller when he was almost "gone with the Schwinn" in an early Muppet movie.

1) Christian bale in 310 to Yuma
2) Rob Roy the last fight when he cuts the dude down the torso
3) Braveheart's death
4) Darth Vader
5) Gollum holding onto the ring in glorious splendor

Wash in Serenity. I can't believe it took me so long to come up with it!

"I float like a leaf on the wind.
Watch how I soar"
I was gonna make it my signature but I couldn't find a picture of it. . . . .

When Butch shoots JT in Pulp Fiction! Unexpected much? Hell yeah!

Jason Statham in Crank deserves a nod just because his death lasts THE WHOLE FRICKIN' MOVIE! Why won't you DIE!?!

Which brings me to Robin Swallows in Austin Powers 2:The Spy who Shagged me.

Yeah Baby!

Cornelius in Escape from the Planet of the Apes

The head on collision in Death Proof

Leo bites the berg in Titanic

The conclusion of Bride of Frankenstein

Jennifer Lopez in Gigli (oh wait, that was just her career)

Judge Doom in Who Framed Roger Rabbit (Although it owes everything to The Wizard of Oz)

Hans Gruber takes the plunge in Die Hard

Nearly every death in Hostel Part II, enough said.

Poor King Kong, the original of course

...I could go on for days.
