Congratulations on finishing the list, @
John-Connor. 250 is a lot of films, and with all the grouped entries and honorable mentions, I feel like you probably doubled that number. Personally, I would've preferred to see you tackle a smaller list if it meant the accompaniment of write-ups. As I've said before on the forum, seeing a list of favorites is far less interesting to me than reading about why the person loves those particular films. I know you said that English is your third language, but you seem to have a stronger grasp of the language than some of the native speakers around here, so that shouldn't be a deterrent.
As for the list itself, I love the diversity. I can probably count on one hand (with maybe two or three fingers from the other) the number of films on here that I dislike. The ones I haven't seen are films already on my watchlist, and I added the two I hadn't previously heard of:
Smoke and
Blood In Blood Out. We share a ton of favorites, especially within the action genre. Three of your top ten --
The Matrix,
Pulp Fiction,
Once Upon a Time in the West -- are in my top ten as well. Also love seeing
The Karate Kid and
Bloodsport crack the top 100. I don't mind the grouping of trilogies and whatnot, but grouping all of Kurosawa's samurai films together as one entry definitely felt like a cheat.
