This is a cool sci fi novel with a sequel waiting in the wings. It is about an attempt to build a space elevator on top of Mount Everest which is used to launch space ships a short distance into space to rendezvous with a commercial space station. It is also supposed to retrieve them. Has an air of realism to it and many twists and turns. Are they actually capable of building it ... or not? It should make a really good movie and sequel.
