The Films to Come (Your Most Anticipated Films of 2006)

Tools

Greetings friends

It's time for 2006
The best year (IMO) in movies has ended

What movies, are you looking forward to, that are coming out in 2006?

I looked through the release date schedule (although I already was excited about a few movies beforehand) to see how many movies I'm exactly interested in and the number is: 27
If you need help looking at all of 2006's releases, heres a link: http://www.comingsoon.net/movies.php

And I will keep it at a top 10 list

My list:

1: The Last Kiss

Maybe you haven't heard of it.
Oh well.
It stars Zach Braff, from my favorite TV show in the world, 'Scrubs', and I'm not exaggerating either. The show actually teaches me lessons. You can't say that about every show.
Second, it stars Rachel Bilson from my second favorite TV show, 'the OC'
She's a cutie.
To round out the already great cast, is Jacinda Barrett (Ladder 49), and Tom Wilkinson (Eternal Sunshine)
And the plot sounds extremely good too, it appeals to me.
And this looks like it will be a very great movie.
Let's hope nothing goes wrong.

2: Lady in the Water
Did I hear someone say 'Very odd choices'?
Oh well, M Night Shyamalan is my favorite director.
I have not NOT enjoyed any of his past movies.
And now I'm looking forward to this one.
It is definitely intriguing, and odd.
Well....I like odd.

3: X-men 3
Woah.
Looks cool.
'Cool' is an overused word these days, but theres no other way to describe it.
It looks...COOL.
Angel is probably going to be my favorite, as I'm writing a script about a man who battles demons, with the help of angels.
And just to see Angel shoot out his white wings looks pretty damn awesome to me.
And also, everything else looks pretty awesome too.
Definitely seeing it.

4: My Super Ex-Girlfriend
Sounds very intriguing.
I like the premise.
I even love the title.
This could really be a lot of fun.
Speaking of 'Super'...

5: Superman Returns
Wondering why its at the bottom of the top 5?
Well....the trailer was not really great.
Admit it.
It didn't so anything groundbreaking or amazing, or...super.
But what I hear is that the trailer was only a small fraction of whats to come.
And that's what excites me.
And Kate Bosworth is just so darn cute!

6: Sunshine
Odd, creepy and intriguing.
I've been using the word 'intriguing' a lot, but so what?
All of these films are.
It also has a good director, and a good cast, including my favorite, Cillian Murphy.
And with Cillian Murphy present, how can it not be creepy?

7: V for Vendetta
Natalie Portman. Love her to death.
Matrix. Love the action in them, and the storytelling.
But I know this won't have a lot of the groundbreaking action of the Matrix, it's the story that reels me in.
And I love vigilantes.

8: Pirates of the Caribbean 2: Dead Mans Chest
The trailer didn't wow me at first.
But come on, this one has to be good.
Everyone is returning.
The first one is so great and fun.
I must see it.
It's a given...right?

9: In the Land of Women
A movie about a scripwriter, huh?
Sounds very relative to me.
I wonder why this isn't a little higher on the list.
Maybe because I haven't seen a trailer yet.
But it has Adam Brody, Kristen Stewart and...Meg Ryan.
Not the biggest fan of the last person, Jodie Foster would be so much better, and this would be higher on the list.
But it sounds good, so I'm definitely seeing it.

10: Snakes on a Plane
You've gotta love the title.
And lately, plane movies have not disappointed me at all.
Look at my top 10 favorites of this year, and you'll see.
Samuel L Jackson is fine to have here.
It's also from the director of Cellular, one of my favorite fun movies.
And it has Benjamin McKenzie, from the OC.
Can it get any better?

NOTICE:
If I figure out that Jim Carrey's next drama 'The Number 23" is coming out next year, then it will skyrocket up to the top.

But I dunno if its even begun filming.

-

Honorable mentions:

Stranger than Fiction: Sounds hilarious. Sounds also like 'The Number 23', except its a comedy. Will Ferrell and Queen Latifah.
Genius.

You, Me and Dupree: A lot of good comedies coming out this year also. Owen Wilson, cutie Kate Hudson, and Matt Dillon.
Good matching. Good premise.
Sounds good.
How about you and me go see '..Dupree'.
I've gotta use that one on a girl..

Slither: Bad-ass Nathan Fillion from Serenity. Fighting creepy leeches. Sounds. Pretty. Damn. FUN!

Click: From the creators of 'Bruce Almighty'?
I'm in.
Adam Sandler mixing comedy with a touch of drama?
I'm definitely in.

the Break-Up: Damn! There's a lot of good comedies coming out next year!
Vince Vaughn is so funny, and Jennifer Aniston is cute and will be hilarious when going crazy.
It's also a good fit.
Let's hope it pulls a 'Mr and Mrs Smith' at the box office, huh?

Little Man: How weird does this sound? By the Wayans brothers of course, Shawn Wayans plays a man so anxious to become a father that he mistakes a short-statured, baby-faced thief on the run, played by Marlon Wayans, for an abandoned toddler.
I'm intrigued.
It also stars Tracy Morgan.
And it's not to be mistaked with..

Inside Man: Clive Owen. Denzel Washington. Jodie Foster. In an interesting thrilling premise.
I'm so in.

A Scanner Darkly: Woah.

Grind House: Just another horror movie......directed by Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez!
Nuff' said.

High, Wide, and Handsome: Yet another Will Ferrell comedy. But it sounds funny. I'm seeing it.

Glory Road: Sounds good. Sounds dramatic. Swell.

The Visiting: A sci-fi alien attack movie.
I'm already buying a ticket.
*hesitates
What does that say on the matinee? Starring Nicole Kidman?
Hmm.
Oh well, I'll see it anyway

Final Destination 3: http://www.apple.com/trailers/newlin...ldestination3/
COOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL

Scary Movie 4: Sure, I'll see it. The 3rd one was funny.

The Hills Have Eyes: The trailer freaked me out. I'm interested, but I'm probably too scared..

Date Movie: This one is a serious toss-up. Alyson Hannigan is such a cutie, but....the rest doesn't look so hot (from the trailer). I'm not so sure....

and finally

Cars:
The trailers haven't been the best.
But Pixar has yet to fail.
Bring it ON!

-

It's not. It's memoir. And not James Frey-style memoir either, but like retelling actual events.

Now tell us the rest of the upcoming movies that are adapted from books! This is fun!

Ok, it seems memoir-able then

(altho the interview suggests that some of his memories need more added salt than others)

1. Flags of Our Fathers - Clint Eastwood and ww2

2. The Zodiac - David Fincher less hollywoodized

3. The WickerMan - A flawed movie gets a second chance

4. Inland Empire - My very first David Lynch theater experience

Two movies that I'm afraid of are The Fountain and The Prestige. I've read the fountain and didn't like the story (but loved the artwork) and I'm halfway through The Prestige and I really don't care about it at all.

I'll just have to trust Aronofsky and Nolan.
