I just go by whatever year imdb has at the top now - so much easier than before. Grouping for points and 2000 has always been a challenge to squeeze in a top 10. Lots of good films. Yi Yi really shot up the chart after a recent rewatch. That happens sometimes.

1. Yi Yi
2. Werckmeister Harmonies
3. In the Mood for Love

4. Sexy Beast
5. Traffic
6. Platform

7. Eureka
8. La Commune (Paris, 1871)
9. Dancer in the Dark
10. Requiem for a Dream

11. As I Was Moving Ahead Occasionally I Saw Brief Glimpses of Beauty
12. In Vanda's Room
13. Chicken Run
14. Almost Famous
15. Memento

Like the fella says, in Italy for 30 years under the Borgias they had warfare, terror, murder, and bloodshed, but they produced Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci, and the Renaissance. In Switzerland they had brotherly love - they had 500 years of democracy and peace, and what did that produce? The cuckoo clock."

Okay, there are 19 ballots.
Do you think that we've reached the max capacity of this web community?

"How tall is King Kong ?"
Do you mean:
The Ninth Gate by Roman Polanski
Ghost Dog: The Way of the Samurai by Jim Jarmusch

both are 1999 films.
Hey, making this list was hard enough.

But yes, I mean these, and my sources show them as 2000 films. It was discussed earlier in this thread, such lists are more or less impossible because of release years discrepancies.

(And by "these lists", I mean above all a list I'm making on my own side, in a one-movie-per-year format, where the "missing years" are near impossible to track and complete because movies keep jiggling around.)

_____
Edit :
Heck, on an unrelated list, I notice that Tarsem Singh's The Fall appears from 2006 on IMDB and on the movie database, and from 2008 both here and on cinefix's channel.

@mrblond

Have you done this for any other years?
This is the very first tour in the Movieforums web site.
If there are enough supporters, other years will be started.

I still examine what is the human capacity of the site.

I learned about this Swedish film in the last year. It is a cult status surreal movie about society philosophy.
It is #11. in my 2000 list.
Recommended for thinkers.

I didn't vote for, nor have I seen any of those. I've only heard of the first two.
Wonder Boys and You Can Count on Me are definitely worth your time.
