watched on TV in the 90's. Like the American

A film about a former hockey player who left the sport because of an injury and became a tramp. He has a son who has some problems at school. A boy's classmate is a fan of his father, but does not know that he is studying with his idol's son. At the end of the film, these two teenagers are organizing an ice skating race.

I remember some pieces of two dialogues:
A classmate sees a tramp at the school, calls him something like a homeless person. After a while, he shows off in the classroom with newspaper clippings and talks about his favorite hockey player. The girl says: - You just called him a bum. The boy is indignant: "I've never seen him!" And then it turns out that the bum is a former hockey player.
The second piece: when the son of the protagonist offers a race to a classmate, he contemptuously says: - What? With you? You can not even stand on rollers!
