Greatest Ever Movie Villains

Tools

I don't think Voldemort is the greatest, honestly. It's hard to imagine he made it to anyone's top ten.
Book Voldemort is without a doubt a fantastic villain. But he is very much dumbed down in the movies.

two big thumbs up with Rocky 4 and The Matrix

Only one villain ever had me so freaked out he was pretty much all I could think about for hours after I watched the movie.

Hanibal Lecter (Silence Of The Lambs) and John Doe (Se7en). These two are more than just villains. They also take a great amount of pleasure by just hurting people using only them. Last but not least - Scar (Lion King). He ruined my childhood. I hate his guts!

1. The Joker - Dark Knight
2. Verbal Kint/Keyser Sose - The Usual Suspects
3. Tyler Durden - Fight Club
4. Pazazu - The Exorcist
5. Gary Oldman - Leon (can't remember his name)
6. Reverand Kane - Poltergeist 2
7. Jaws - Moonraker/The Spy Who Loved Me
8. Mr.Blonde - Reservoir Dogs
9. Tommy Devito/Desimone - Goodfellas
10. Lil Ze - City Of God

Just some of my favourites. I'm pretty sure there are many more who I've forgotten about / not seen yet

I am the Watcher in the Night
Haven't been on the site for a while but it's good to see some new lists. I'm thinking of expanding my list to 20 and maybe even moving a few names around after having thought about my older list a bit more. Stay tuned for more.

Some of my favorites:

Police Captain Hank Quinlan (Touch of Evil)
Such an AWESOME villain. He's corrupt, murderous, full of trauma, an alcoholist and he truely believes that's he's doing the right thing. The fact that he's right about the case in the end, makes him only more admirable.

Tommy DeVito (Goodfellas)
Just a funny guy.

Noah Cross (Chinatown)
Pure evil in the form of a very believable John Huston.

Harry Lime (The Third Man)
Classy, charming and rotten from the inside. He's not that long in the film, but when he is, he steals the show! He also has one of the most memorable introduction scenes in the history of cinema.

Calvin Candie (Django Unchained)
I know he's still very recent, but for me he was just an instant classic. Awesome performance of a charming, but black-hearted (lol) character.
