The Lunchbox (2013) -- a very interesting film

I just watched the 2013 film The Lunchbox. What a heart-warming, interesting film. Mainly a remote, very low key, love story taking place in Mumbai India, but there is an underlying almost-documentary on how the dabbawallas of Mumbai deliver 200,000 meals a day and only make one delivery mistake in every 6,000,000 deliveries. I had to do some internet research on the Dabbawallas of Mumbai and what I discovered is just as interesting as this movie. The system has been in place since 1890 and has been studied by many universities.

If you're curious just search the net (or YouTube directly) with "dabbawalla"

In the movie the romance is very, very slow building between an older widower and a youngish wife/mother whose husband has been cheating on her. And surprise: it's rated PG.

I'm a huge fan and I never miss the opportunity to recommend it whenever romantic films are mentioned.

A touching Indian film that might seem like a romantic film on the surface, but it's really a more introspective look into relationships and age. Wonderful performances by the two leads (Irrfan Khan and Homeland's Nimrat Kaur) and a well-paced direction.
