Hippies' parents

Tools

American movie, 60s-70s

A bourgeoisie couple has a daughter who ran away with the hippies. After some attempts to find her, they join a group of bourgeoisie families whose children ran away to join the hippies too. In a scene, they are at a conference where a parent says things like "we have to understand, and change…". In a round table, a very uptight woman says "In our quest for understanding, we have to try what our children are going through. This object is known as a 'joint'. It's lighted like a cigarette and then inhaled for recreational purposes." At the end there's also an orgy to practice free love, but I think everybody backs up.

Today this would be the plot for an overplayed crap with an overpaid comic, but this movie is very slow paced, it doesn't even try to be a comedy.

In the last scene they meet by chance the daughter on the street, but she avoids them.

Yeah, thanks

That sounds hilarious.

Turns out, the uptight woman has another part, the joint's explanation is made by a weird looking guy, who plays the weird looking guy in every other movie since the seventies.
