Favorite James Bond Theme Song

The Spy Who Loved Me
NOBODY DOES IT BETTER
Sung by Carly Simon

I too would probably vote for "Nobody Does It Better", though Shirley Bassey's "Goldfinger" is so damn fun and prototypical, I'd ultimately have to flip a coin between the two.

And my favorite lyric actually comes from Lulu in "The Man with the Golden Gun" : "Love is required whenever he's hired, it come just before the kill, No one can catch him, no hit man can match him..." Can't write campier fun lyrics for a spy flick than that, can you?

I've always liked Sheryl Crow, but I'd throw in a vote for her wailing "Tomorrow Never Dies" as the worst Bond themesong.

They all, or almost all kick ass, but here are my top five.

1. For Your Eyes Only, by Sheena Easton
2. Nobody Does it Better (The Spy Who Loved Me), by Carly Simon
3. A View to a Kill, by Duran Duran
4. Octopussy, by Rita Coolidge
5. Live and Let Die, by Paul McCartney

The World of Not Enough by Garbage was quite good.
I agree, had this one in my head for a while. I'm not too big on the old bond flicks mainly because I've never really seen them and I don't want to watch the tv versions of them.

Gladys Night's LICENCE TO KILL. I'm no Gladys fan, but I find it a haunter. ONE MAJOR SHORTCOMING: she sings KILT instead of KILL throughout most of the chorus.

AS IN:

I've got a licence to KILT, and you know, it's gonna make everything alright..

It's not my imagination. Once you notice it, she sings KILT about 13 times. Didn't anyONE notice this at the mixing board, or was Gladys refusing to sing the word 'KILL' for some spiritual deal..

(BAAAAADDDD Bond movie, good song..)

i love nobody does it better...ive loved that since i was a kid. that was my fave bond movie. but i do like the sheryl crow one and the garbage one. but thats coz i love those bands so im biast i guess.

You're a Genius all the time
The best is "Live and Let Die", hands down.

Here's the new Bond theme from the upcoming Quantum of Solace. It's called "Another Way to Die"; written and performed by Jack White and Alicia Keyes. I don't really like it, but it's not as horrible as some people have been saying. It's definitely nowhere near as good as Chris Cornel's brilliant theme from Daniel Craig's first Bond outing, Casino Royale. Actually, that one might be my favorite.

"From Russia with Love" -- it's the only James Bond tune I can remember and Henry Mancini had a great recording of it: I jumped off the James Bond wagon about a quarter of the way through Roger Moore and haven't looked back. Bond was very much a 1960s phenomena that hasn't weathered well.

I do like the Tiajuana Brass tune from Woody Allen's Casino Royale, but that was more Allen than Bond

I am burdened with glorious purpose
"Nobody Does It Better" was once a "our song" between me and this guy... I was 21 years old at the time.

And boy, at the time, nobody did it better!

So, yea, it has a special place in my heart... but "View to a Kill" is pretty great. I also liked "Goldfinger" a lot as a kid.

I am the Nightrider!
Top five!

1. "Let and Let Die"
2. "Nobody Does it Better"
3. "Diamonds are Forever"
4. "A View to a Kill"
5. "Goldfinger"
