Imgur is odd. It was playing up for me the other day and was working fine for others, now it's working fine again.
I thought it was file size, but it now accepts all images I try.

Two decent enough movies but neither were on my list.

Faildictions:
18. Jurassic Park (1993)
17. Wall-E (2008)

I didn't care for Children of Men when I first saw it a few years ago. I watched it again for this countdown and loved it.

I love Total Recall because of the three breasted woman.

My list-

#2 Strange Days (81st)
#6 RoboCop (28th)
#8 28 Days Later (85th)
#9 E.T. (21st)
#11 Total Recall (19th)
#12 The Hidden (82nd)
#19 Children of Men (20th)
#20 Seconds (84th)
#21 Donnie Darko (83rd)
#22 Interstellar (43rd)
#23 Ex-Machina (30th)
#24 Her (25th)
#25 They Live (45th)

YIPPEEEEE!!!

I never put Total Recall on my list, as I knew it was going to make it... 19th though is a great placement.

There has to be one person out there who loves Total Recall enough and is mentally unhinged enough to gt surgery to get three t*ts.

Anyway I have seen both films but voted for neither. Both are very good though. Children of Men is a great dystopian future flick and Total Recall is classic Arnie sci-fi action. That being said I have always preferred Predator to Total Recall.

1. Top 5 easy good chance at #1
2. Stalker (1979)
3. Mad Max: Fury Road (2015)
4. The Avengers (2012)
5. Should be top 15
6. The other possible number 1.
7. The Road Warrior (1981)
8. Has to be somewhere in the top 15
9. Predator (1987)
10. Not gonna make it
11. I would certainly hope this made it

Children of Men was one of the very last cuts made, and a very painful one, but one I made because ultimately as much as I love it and admire it, I don't find myself drawn back to rewatching it. I'm amazed Total Recall made it this high and was starting to wonder about it. It is science fiction at its funnest, with a B-movie plot built around the usual themes of Philip K. Dick, and on top of that it's funny and irreverent, and it was my #15. That means half of the top twenty will be from my list.

My List:
3. Metropolis (#36)
5. Brazil (#32)
6. Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1956) (#46)
9. World on a Wire (#73)
11. Forbidden Planet (#38)
15. Total Recall (#19)
17. Moon (#29)
18. Solaris (#23)
22. Logan’s Run (#71)
25. Ghost in the Shell (#64)

A system of cells interlinked
Ah, E.T. - A lost Jedi gets stranded on a planet in a faraway system, where he meets a small alien child who helps him contact other members of his species who pick him up in a Trade Federation Core Ship. At one point he recognizes Yoda, who is actually another alien child in a Halloween costume and says "Home! Home!". Let's not for get the multiple times he uses The Force in the film, as well!

Didn't make my list.

Children of Men, however, was on my list!

At one point I was obsessed with the camera work in this flick.

I keep forgetting to watch Children of Men, though I've honestly been meaning to. Looking at the date, it's a bit hard to believe that a whole decade has passed since then. Maybe I'll get around to it sometime in the next decade.

Total Recall is another one of the many films that were on my first shortlist, but didn't make the final cut.

Bright light. Bright light. Uh oh.
Both were on my list - Men at #25 and Recall at #8. Some thoughts.

Alfonso Cuarón's Children of Men certainly presented film as an extended medium. The movie contained so many long shots (albeit they were augmented with digital F/X to seem even more spectacular) that it did present itself as a calling card for a new way of telling a story. Being sci-fi, the film seemed to carry the concept of 9/11 and AIDs/new diseases into the future where the world may well very be at total war against itself and incapable of reproducing a single human child. Once again, unpredictability rules the day, although since we spend our time in Great Britain, that nation's prog rock (King Crimson and Pink Floyd) seem to have the most power.
Which leads me to... Warning: the following post contains heretical statements all over the place. Please proceed with caution.... my favorite Philip K. Dick movie adaptation:

Total Recall (Paul Verhoeven, 1990)

Let's see here... why do I like Total Recall? It's fast, furious, funny, full of creativity and wit, features Ronny Cox as one of the greatest villains in film history, allows Arnold to try to be sexy and say the word "hetero", puts Sharon Stone and Rachel Ticotin into direct competition over Arnold's body AND soul, has a labyrinthine script which is one of the best Chinese Box-style plots I've ever enjoyed and mulled over, etc.

Total Recall is a non-stop blast of cinematic fun. I love the scenes which seem to be ad-libbed (they aren't), I love the scenes which seem to be poorly acted (sorry, it's all there for a damn fine purpose), I even love the Oscar-winning F/X which are much weaker than the Chinese Puzzle Box script. In fact, my former employer told me that this movie had no reason for being besides its F/X, and it was just about at that moment that I realized that our compatability on being a perfect barometer for each other's film opinions was kaput. I enjoy the F/X, especially that scanning for people with weapons, but the film's reason for being has more to do with its story than its visuals, although I admit I greatly admire both.

So let's recap for me: this is my fave Dick flick, my fave Verhoeven, fave Schwarzenegger, favorite Mars flick, fave Cox performance, vote for one of the fastest movies ever, a film which seems to be neverending in its visual wit, crypticness and general crowd-pleasing nature. Look, I never expected to love this movie when I first saw it in the theatre in 1990, but ever since I have, I have had absolutely no reason not to try to defend it against any naysayers. (To tell you the truth, it's hard for me to believe there are any naysayers unless they're just quoting the company line and watch the flick on auto-pilot.)

Watch this wonderful movie ASAP.

I didn't like Children of Men on my first and only watch for the Sci Fi Hof.

Total Recall is a blast! One of the best fun-action-sci fi flicks around. Not on my list but glad to see it here
