But I thought that members of PC/woke culture would cry foul and not include Tattoo, because, they would be insulted that they decided to exclude a little person character and give such an actor a chance.
I cry foul because Tattoo was a member of the original cast, and well loved at that. If recreated he should be done so as close to the original as possible.
But then I can just hear the PC debates over the actor who should play Tattoo - first the cry to change his gender! Then make sure he's gay so as to represent the demographic (plus this could help hint at a less Platonic and more Progressive relationship between him and his boss).
Maybe he shouldn't be little because that would be offensive to little people, but making him average sized would make him even more offensive to little people. Whatever we do, he's got to be black because you don't make a TV series for the movies or a comic book or super team without changing at least one established white character into a black one - it's just what we do these days because tokenism is the new affirmative action. It's like a new law.
But then Herve wasn't exactly white - he was French - so that's got to be changed as well - a dark skinned Caucasian little French-accented person who sounds like he has a speech impediment due to a combination of his accent and his internal organs being forced up into his throat just doesn't seem "diverse" enough, and yet still too offensive on too many levels.
Therefore Tattoo should be a black female teen who has a thyroid problem that makes her over 6 feet tall and weighing in at 300 lbs., she'll speak with a half Chinese / Creole accent and with a lot of flamboyant emphasis as we find out she's a post-operative woman who was formerly a young gay man and now prefers bisexual little people as both friends and lovers.
She will not be subordinate to Roarke (as that would be an offensive role for her non-binary stereotype) therefore she shall threaten to sit on him and her warning that the dominating action is about to occur will be her war cry "De Plane! De Plane!"
Subsequently, Roarke will great all his guests from a prone position underneath Tattoo's great girth and this will symbolize that men (especially suave ones) no longer control the reigns of power in the hierarchy of tropical island politics.
