Went viral for a really thoughtful, intelligent answer to a question about AI's role in movie creation:
Affleck on AI and Hollywood
He does a good job of regurgitating techno-business wisdom on the topic.
"AI is a craftsman, at best." -- this is an admission that every craftsman's job is at risk. So, just a majority of labor is threatened. OK???
"They're just cross-pollinating work" -- yeah, that's what everyone does.
"Art is knowing when to stop" -- Are musicians artists? Because there is a ton of AI music which sounds like it was made by a person on UDIO. Are painters and illustrators artists? Because I can sit people down with a thousand images and most won't reliably know which ones are AI and which one were created by people. AI produced paintings can win awards against humans in competition.
There is one thing and one thing only which will save human-produced artifacts.

It will not be their quality. - We're in the Turing-capable phase of machine art.The one thing which will save human art is the knowledge (or rather belief, because a lot of the "real" stuff was fake before AI got here) that the artwork was created by a human. That's it. This is the one and only thing which will keep it afloat. We desire communion. We want to be one with others, to touched by them, to share with them, to join with them. We do not want to be alone.
It will not be their originality. - This is a romanticist's phantasm. Nothing is, in a deep ontological sense, original. Everything is a remix.
It will not be their soul. - God is dead and the death of man was not long of the offing afterward.

Affleck sounds like a spokesperson for a tobacco company, sounding so believable & confident and yet you know it's a bucket load of bs. I knew he was leveling a salespitch when he answers the very first question and says with a PR mans' conviction & tone, "b, will it be possible in the future[to create a movie with AI] highly unlikely."

that was a great non-sense ladened explanation of something he knows very little about: stick to slinging Dunkin’ Affleck!

That was an amusing video for DD.
