the last tech thing you bought?

I ordered a TV on Christmas that should (should!) ship today and arrive Wednesday. Here's to hoping that's accurate.

I have an update on this; the TV didn't ship on Monday and it didn't arrive Wednesday. However, it shipped on Tuesday and should arrive on Thursday. So a day's difference for each event, so not bad, especially at this time of years. I'm a little disappointed albeit not at all mad. It'll get here tomorrow, and I'll be happy.

Addendum; it is now slated to arrive tomorrow, Friday. Oh my... I should qualify that. If it gets here today or tomorrow, at least it'd be here by the weekend. That's the important part. Friday is fine because then I can get setup for the weekend without the kiddos.

It's an Xbox Series S. I've wanted one for a while, and placed the order this evening. Now to hope it ships in the next day or two.
Update: It shipped on Thursday! The system should arrive next Thursday or Friday. I'm stoked.

I ordered this amigop yesterday since the charger I have is really bad:

The USB chargers are nice, and the cord is longer too. If this doesn't work I'll try again. The trouble is the SP keeps reseting in the middle of the kiddo's game, and I researched it a bit, and that's a common calamity with a faulty SP charger, so a replacement was necessary.

Re: my previous post; the Series S works great, although I haven't used it in a week. It'll be there when I'm ready to resume playing on it. However the PS2 came to me broken, so I sent it back for a full refund. I was mildly disappointed, but I decided to go a different route.

I bought an external DVD burner/drive the other day. Let's hope it works. It's supposed to arrive Tuesday.

I got the fireplace out of the mailbox within the past hour. I think I know how to have it burn discs. I haven't had a chance to make sure what I looked up works.

I bought a Chromebook. I hate it. It just does things. I barely touch it and it assumes I am doing a thing. I want to go back to MS-DOS and double click. As I type the cursor jumps to the beginning of the sentence and I am typing there instead. I am sure there is a way to stop it from doing these things but I can't be arsed to figure it out. I just wanted something that was a no-brainer. I don't want everything I own to have a steep learning curve. Hurrumph!

So the DVD burner/fireplace works except the burning capabilities of my computer are crap so I needed another way to burn discs. I purchased a license for some software and have discs coming tomorrow, they were ordered last week, to see if I can make the burner/fireplace (I like calling it a fireplace) work. Next up will be a micro-USB to USB-C cord because the fireplace didn't come with one. I have a USB-A to USB-C converter except it's a mite too big to keep my cords all plugged into my computer at the same time. I also bought more disks. I should have bought the cord... Oops... The cord'll be easy enough to get in the next few days.

I might be cancelling a couple things so then I can get the cord.
