No thread for Casino Royale? I haven't seen it yet, since I've been in the hospital getting my appendix removed. What's your excuse?

Slide Show of the Bond girls!

Ursula Andress has always been my favorite. Even though she's a villan.

Secret Agent Style

Here's a list of Casino Royale's Bond accessories. Made for or inspired by the movie.

One of the best Bond films. DC is awesome !

There are those who call me...Tim.
Casino Royale is so close to becoming the highest grossing Bond Movie in the States I can almost smell it. It's even on course to become only the third film ever to pass 100 million in the UK, therefore beating Dead Man's Chest as the highest grossing film of 2006.

Do it for England James!

Yeah I suppose if there is ever to be a film to do that well in the UK, it should be OO7. Do you think it is really well liked over there or is it's popularity based mostly out of curiosity from the negative publicity this smaller Bond has gotten?

The Fabulous Sausage Man
This is very probably one of the top three Bond movies.

Actualy this was the first James Bond film I saw Don't understand some who state Graig can't be Bond without even watching the film. He looks real. I liked both him and his girl friend! Waiting for a new film with him

It's good but certainly not among the top 3 bond movies, According to me top 3 bond movies are:
1. Golden Eye
2. Live & Let Die
3. Goldfinger
But Daniel Craig has the potential to be a better bond, only what he is missing is Roger Moore's charm, otherwise he's perfect bond.

There was a supposed scene in this movie that takes place in a area that actually has dead human bodies, put on display. Anyways, that display has been here in Vancouver for the past 2 or 3 weeks. My friend checked it out and it is quite amazing with for example how they show a woman with or without breast cancer. The bodies were in different poses apparently. Unfortunately, no cameras allowed so she couldn't snap any pics for Escape.

Is that the Bodyworlds exhibit? That came through Boston reason...

Well I can only base this on the opinions of people I know, but there was a genuine huge demand for this film before release. Bond movies have always been an event in the UK but after the bitter after taste left by Die Another Day (which apparently grossed just half of what Casino Royale has achieved) people were very curious to see what an all new James Bond could deliver.

As for the "CraigNOTBond" campaign on the internet and in the tabloids, I'm really not sure just how much attention people were giving it. Obviously I heard a lot of that nonsense on the web but not once did I hear a member of the general public mention it.

To be honest I think it's success is mainly down to the film being just so darned good!

Yeah I mean when I read about the negativity towards this new bond, it was either reading the paper or hearing it on the tube but where did they get their souce to say this I'm now asking myself. Probably just a small minority with a loud voice. And yup, it really was a good flick wasn't it.

Thank god for this movie, it saved the francise.

Sure not a lot of chatter on MoFo about this film.

I finally saw it over the weekend and at first I didn't much like it. For some reason though it never strayed far from my thoughts for the past few days so last night I rewatched it.

The initial impression I had was that Bond was more tough guy and less thinker and even "M" calls him a blunt instrument. I think what bugged me about the characterization was that there really was a lot going on inside of Bond's head and then I realized that the mis-characterization was intentional.

Some of the cinematography is reminiscent of the older films, particularly around the tropical hotel scenes. I really dug the look and feel and the accompanying sound track was also well done.

I guess I'll have to see Quantum of Solace to see if I really buy Daniel Craig as Bond.

Now that I'm starting to get over the past (i.e. Connery & Moore, didn't like Dalton or Brosnan) I think I'll be able to make room for Craig.

the more I watch this movie the more I absolutely love these scenes in it. It may feel overdone at times, but man is it so much fun to watch! Love the revenge and emotion that was brought out in casino royale.

Craig pulled it off!!

This is among the best bond movies!

After all the controversy and comments on Daniel Craig's potential as an actor and doubts over him playing Bond...i'd say forget it and be enthralled by the new BOND! He's here to stay.

He has that natural feeling about him when you see him on the screen as Bond, that attitude, style, confidence matched only by Sean COnnery. The movie as a whole is extremely entertaining and exciting. The acting is awesome Eva Green actually does a great job and has really improved her acting from the last time i saw her (in kingdom of heaven), but then this is a totally different movie.

There's a lot of action mixed with great story which i am sure will please the true Bond fan.

There was never any doubt in my mind that Daniel Craig would make a sterling James Bond as I have seen most of his edgy, out of the box film roles in "Layer Cake," The Mother," Sylvia," "Munich," "Road to Perdition" to name several. Craig is and has always had weight, focus and importance on the screen. And as James Bond he brings all of these qualities to bear and "Casino Royale" is the better for it.
