Hell Is A City (1960) - the hownos/Allaby viewing session

15 minutes to go. I've seen three films directed by Val Guest: The Abominable Snowman (1957), Casino Royale (1967), and Mother's Helpers (1972).

Hell is a City was nominated for 2 BAFTA awards, Best British Screenplay and Most Promising Newcomer to Leading Film Roles.

Stanley Baker in the lead. A good career. Not quite an A lister
Charcter actor Donald Pleasance also in this one.
I've seen Baker in 4 films. He was in quite a few, considering he was only 48 when he died.

Lois Daine, in real life, was married to Tom Bell, who'd co-star with Stanley Baker in another British B&W crime film, A Prize of Arms.
