What was the movie about a guy couldn't write a second novel?

Don't know how long ago it was. He had a wife and a couple of daughters. He'd written an acclaimed novel but nothing since and the family was out of money.
Living in ruined Scottish castle.
The daughters even imprisoned him in part of the castle for a while and wouldn't let him out until he wrote. . but he still didn't/couldn't.
Any clues?
