these really wouldn't be-

The rest I haven't seen yet.

My top 5 movies this year:
1. Avatar
2. Law Abiding Citizen
3. Alvin and the Chipmunks
4. New Moon
5. Transformers

Blind Side has to be in some people's top ten lists, i thought not just the performance from Sandra Bullock was immense but the whole film was great. To add to that it was based on a true story. Really enjoyable and gripping film.

As for the Hurt Locker, i don't see what all the fuss is about. I thought it was a decent film but nothing going beyond the term ''Decent''. I know we can argue the fact that it's realistic and it's what happens in Iraq for American soldiers but to go beyond saying it's the best film the year, the film itself has to match the label it's getting and for me, this film just didn't have that effect. Sorry, decent movie but vastly overated.

Avatar, best film of the year for me. I was the one of the majority that went to see it at the cinema and hell was it a enjoyable movie. The effects were tremendous, but for me i also thought the film was immense. The storyline was great, the cast played great roles and the whole film was a classic of the modern era. One of the best movies of this decade, not just because of the effects and animated characters, but because of the whole film collectively.

Films like Inglorious Basterds, Up, District 9, i have yet to watch but will be giving them a watch in the next week.

Here's mine:

1. A Serious Man
2. The White Ribbon
3. Inglourious Basterds
4. In the Loop
5. The Road
6. A Prophet
7. The Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call - New Orleans
8. Anvil! The Story of Anvil
9. The House of the Devil
10. Moon

Revenge is a meal best served cold.
i think fast and furious should also be included in this list
I hope you're joking.

Looking back at 2009 I find it hard to REALLY like 10 movies. There are some on this list I don't but I felt I had to put something down at least:
(in no order)
Zombieland
Hurt Locker
Hangover
Avatar
Star Trek
Up In the Air
Terminator Salvation
Inglourious Basterds

8 worth watching. To remember?....i don't know about that. I just got done watching a Serious Man. Hated it. I wanted to strangle every single character by the end of the movie. I just wanted to scream out to the main character "Grow some balls and do something!" Anyways...

Amazing how Avatar got so much accolade when several good science fiction flicks came out last year.

I just finished watching Surrogates last night and was very pleased with what I saw. Cool idea, somewhat similar to the concept of Avatar at least in the aspect of a flawed human being able to live within a tube while controlling a avatar in the real world. Unfortunately both never really explore the idea as much as they should.

1. Moon - A
2. District 9 - B+
3. Surrogates - B-
4. Avatar - D

There are a couple of other sci-fi films from the year that I have yet to see.
