A few years ago I watched an engaging action film featuring a Black male lead set in rural France. I'm hazy on a few aspects; whether the film is French or simply set in France; he may have gone alone or with a female companion and there may have been a car accident in which she was killed. He or they were supposed to stay with friends in a cottage but things quickly become chaotic and hectic as he is pursued relentlessly by a number of assailants for reasons we don't know at the outset. He flings himself across the countryside narrowly avoiding hails of bullets. The tension level hovers around nine for much of the time. He begins to anticipate and outwit his assailants and befriends two female characters who seem to understand his predicament and help him with transport into a major city, probably Paris. Here the hunters eventually become hunted.
I cannot conduct a search on any engine that correctly names the film and wonder if anyone might remember it. Much appreciated. Thanks. B
