Film about a band.

I am looking for a film about a band. This would be from the 70s or 80s. At one point the band have to play a gig in a park for some children. But someone sabotages their sound system and all that comes out is noise. The children all get upset and throw their seat cushions at the band. At some point in the film the band have to pretend to be marionettes (maybe the same gig in the park for the children?). I thought it might be the movie "Cotton Candy" but this does not happen anywhere in that movie.
This would be American or maybe Canadian. Probably a made-for-TV movie.

Do you remember more details? Is it movie connected with music band or only one scene?

Sorry, that's all I remember. I really thought it was "Cotton Candy" but I have just rewatched that movie and this stuff doesn't happen in "Cotton Candy".

It could be extremely difficult. I will ask my friends from Poland and maybe somebody will know.

Did you check this list or similar lists?

That comes up with way too much stuff, sorry.

Maybe "The Legend od the Stardust Brothers" (1985). But it is Japanese comedy movie.

I will check this out. But I don't think it was a Japanese comedy movie. I saw it on US network television. I am pretty sure it was American or Canadian, and probably a made-for-tv-movie.

I have now watched "Legend of the Stardust Brothers" and that is definitely not it.
The film I am looking for feels like an American made-for-TV movie, not like a Weird Japanese Thing (WJT)
The film I am looking for is in English.
Yes, there was a brief cut during a montage of the Stardust Brothers as marionettes.
But there was no scene with an outdoor gig, awful noise coming out of their sound system, and kids throwing seat cushions. When you find THAT scene, you have found the film I am looking for.

Thank you for quick answer. I will look for other possibilities, perhaps my friends from Poland or Czech Republic knows an answer. It could be tough to find, similar like my dance movie:

I will be inform you.

I very much doubt that this movie would have made its way to Poland or the Czech republic. Are American made-for-TV movies generally broadcast in that part of the world?

Somebody give me a title. "This is Spinal Tap" (1984):

No, it isn't "This is Spinal Tap". I know that film almost line for line. Spinal Tap was a mockumentary about a professional, experienced, band, I think it may have been the first mockumentary (many of the people in the test audience thought it was a real documentary). The one I am looking for I am pretty sure was a made-for-TV-movie (it at least "felt" like that). I think the band were just getting started, and so that's why they had to play a gig in a park.

And maybe "Stunt Rock" (1978) ?

In this movie based on Grant Page, the famous real life Australian master stuntman best known for his work on Mad Max, Grant, who plays himself, goes to Los Angeles to work on a television series. He uses his spare time to lend his expertise to rock band Sorcery (real life band played by themselves), whose act features dangerous stunts and a fantasy storyline focused on duels between the King of the Wizards and the Prince of Darkness, with his cousin playing the Prince. Page helps the duo develop pyrotechnic magic tricks for their shows, and also finds himself in a budding romance with a magazine writer as he recounts to her his own exploits as a stuntman and daredevil as well as various stunts by other greats. The movie also features Grant's stunts from other movies as a showcase of his amazing but dangerous work.

I have just watched "Stunt Rock" (I watched it at double speed, so that I could get through it in only 45 minutes). That isn't it.

Let me go over what I am looking for

I am 100% sure:
A band plays a gig in a park for a group of children. Something happens to their sound equipment, so only noise comes out. The children get angry and throw their seat cushions. Also, at some point, maybe the same scene, the band have to pretend to be marionettes. The film is before 1990, and is live action. It is not a documentary, ie these are actors in a story, not a real band.

I am pretty sure:
Somebody sabotaged their sound equipment, which is why the noise came out. The style of the band was more pop or pop rock. It was an American (or maybe Canadian) film. They were an amateur or struggling band. It was a made for TV movie.

For the longest time I thought it was "Cotton Candy". But I recently rewatched that movie, and this scene isn't in there. Since I can't remember anything else about the movie, for all I know the characters might say "Okay, we failed as a band, so let's do something else , , ,"
