Minecraft Movie

Since hollywood is heading in that direction again, might as well make a cheesy minecraft movie, or TV show, you know for the kids or whatever. They are strangely attached to the simple pixel block world, for some reason. Maybe it's really appealing to the eye or something. Plus, it's very popular among gamers lately, it beat black ops in sales on the Xbox and PC.

For a story, it should be simple. I'm going for a cast away vibe, an ultimate survival movie. What are your ideas? Personally, I think a movie would ruin the whole game, but it's for the obbsesive people who need a little entertainment too.

Hi, just saw this thread.... I love Minecraft (but I always play on Peaceful), but I can't see how a movie would work out. I can't see characters and a plot that would work well with Minecraft and yet still work as a story/movie....

Still, the game itself is awesome. (And I'm no kid -- I'm a 51-yr-old mother of four grown kids!)

It looks like it's finally happening. If the movie is not made by January 2023, Warner Brothers will lose the rights for the film. Jason Momoa is in negotiations to voice the main character (I'm guessing Steve) and Napoleon Dynamite director Jared Hess is going to helm the film.
