Welcome to the MoFo Top 100 of the 2010s Countdown!

98 ballots were submitted for this countdown, making this the second most ballots ever submitted for a MoFo countdown (the first being the Top 100 All-Time Refresh). I really enjoyed reading your ballots as they came in and I also appreciated the positive reception the Group Watch thread received, especially since this is the first time we ever had one on this forum. Here's hoping that idea catches on for future countdowns.

The Voters: Tugg, Holden Pike, John W Constantine, Steve Freeling, ueno_station54, MovieBuffering, Nope1172, MovieFan1988, LAMb EELYAK, Guaporense, Torgo, Ash TheStrangeOne, mrblond, Kaplan, Allaby, pahaK, Hey Fredrick, Deschain, Thursday Next, Cobpyth, Wigram, Fabulous, The Rodent, seanc, ahwell, Citizen Rules, John Dumbear, Mr. Sunshine, donniedarko, mark f, Daniel M, Harry Lime, ScarletLion, dadgumblah, MovieMeditation, Miss Vicky, rauldc14, matt72582, culliford, Thief, Siddon, xSookieStackhouse, Burning, GulfportDoc, mattiasflgrtll6, urkillinmesmalls, Supercraig, kgaard, CharlesAoup, MovieMad16, mojofilter, Slentert, John McClane, WorldFilmGeek, beelzebubble, PHOENIX74, iluv2viddyfilms, Chypmunk, Kaiju39, John-Connor, crumbsroom, Frightened Inmate No. 2, cricket, Captain Spaulding, Wyldesyde19, KeyserCorleone, Takoma11, thracian dawg, honeykid, CosmicRunaway, aronisred, WHITBISSELL!, Mr Minio, edarsenal, Little Ash, gbgoodies, gandalf26, Iroquois, SpelingError, WrinkledMind, I_Wear_Pants, Sedai, Diehl40, sawduck, Okay, ChunkyMonkey, Loner, jiraffejustin, Austruck, Yoda, ApexPredator, CaptainT, Wooley, TheUsualSuspect, WBadger, Followthrough, sarah f, this_is_the_girl.

816 films were voted for, with many great films making the top 100 while a number of other films unfortunately missed the cut. However, keep in mind that, with so many good/great films from the 2010s, not every film could've made the top 100. Therefore, don't be disappointed if some of the films on your ballots don't make the countdown. Rather, take the opportunity to watch the films you haven't seen and look over the user ballots for recommendation at the end of this countdown.

As usual, while discussion is allowed and more than encouraged in this thread, make sure not to reveal your ballots before the countdown is over.

As many of you are aware, mark f passed away recently, so he sadly won't be joining us for this countdown and all future ones on this forum. While I didn't know him as well and as long as some of you did, I always liked him and found him to be a very interesting poster. His reviews/write-ups were always among the most well-written and insightful contributions to the countdown threads, so this thread obviously won't be the same without him. Fortunately, sarah f found a rough draft of his ballot and submitted it for this countdown. Therefore, mark f's ballot will be included and I'll be sure to list any films on his ballot which make the countdown as they come up. I'll also search the forum to see if I can find some reviews/write-ups he might have as well.

I am so pleased we were able to recover a ballot for Mark, and have him participate in one last countdown. This countdown is, without question, dedicated to his memory and his infectious love of cinema.

When Sarah sent me the ballot, I noticed it had just 24 films on it. He hadn't quite completed it. I invited either his daughter or wife to choose the last film, if they wanted, but Sarah said it was better left as-is. And I think she made the right choice.

It seems fitting that there is one empty spot on Mark's ballot, because there was always one more film to see. And I suspect, had he lived to be 100, that still would have been true.

Wait, so we get the one pointers today!?! That'd be cool. Then I'll have something to complain about
Has there ever been a time when you run out of things to complain about?

I almost never play the "one-pointer" game and try to get something obscure or silly listed. Having run a couple of these, it is amazing how often a single point will be the difference in making a title jump up a whole place or even make the list at all. I don't waste that possibility just for the sake of making this first page. Never really understood the appeal, honestly.

The only time I ever succumbed was for the animated countdown when I got Hugo the Hippo a mention. But overall...not my thing.

Enjoy!

The truth is in here
First time I've made the one-pointers.

Danny Collins is an excellent Al Pacino movie. His more intimate films often seem to get overlooked, which is a shame since he does such a brilliant job in them. Every second of him onscreen here is a joy, and he creates a character who's wasted so much of his life, and feels like he has no idea where to go. But thanks to his charismatic and effortlessly likable performance he convinces us it's never too late to turn your life around for the better, and in turn makes for a film that is equal parts funny, heartwarming and inspiring. I strongly recommend all Pacino fans to give it a watch.

One of those 1 Pointers is mine. And no it's not a silly choice and no I didn't include it directly to make a 1 Pointer list. I think highly of the film and gave it a
when I reviewed it. It deserved to make the countdown, it's a solid movie. Which one is it, can you guess???

That's how I operate. If I genuinely really like an obscure film and think that #25 is the appropriate spot for it, I'll gladly do that, but I don't go out of my way to try and get one pointers.

And here we go..

The one-pointers I've seen and liked:

Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows
21 Jump Street
Iron Man 2

Pretty sure my #25 made the top 100.. it has a lot of beautiful women in it..

Aamis aka Ravening in mine.
It's NOT a Bollywood movie. It's an Assamese (as from the state of Assam - every state has its own movie industry) movie.

It is a beautiful but twisted, romantic movie with melodious music. Highly recommended.

Here's the trailer to tempt people to watch.
