‘Final Destination 5:’ Gets a Director

The 4th ‘Final Destination’ installment was the most successful of the franchise, grossing $182 million, so here comes the 5th one.

The director’s going to be Steve Quale, who was originally a visual effects supervisor for big movies like Avatar and Terminator 2. Final Destination 5 will be his first project as a director, and it’s going to be shot in 3-D, so best of luck with that. We expect the best visual effects ever!

Though the movie already got a release date (August 29, 2011) and is going to kick off shooting this September, there’s still no word on casting. But rumors are that the star of hit TV Show ‘Supernatural,’Jensen Ackles, is on board for the lead, which is kinda weird because this franchise is known for picking unknown actors who later become huge TV stars and not the other way round. (Ali Larter from ‘Heroes’ was in Final Destination 2, Nick Zano from ‘Cougar Town’ and ‘Melrose Place 2009’ was in The Final Destination, etc.)

I love the first one, but the rest are pretty garbage.

I have the exact same feeling with the Saw franchise.

Suspect's Reviews

Employee of the Month
I´m a great fan of the franchise. I loved the first one, respected the second, really liked the third part and was annoyed and disappointed by "The Final Destination". It looks cheap, there were no new elements and the actors were horrible. I´m really surprised that this lame vehicle was the most successful. It is to be feared that therefore the producers will dumb down the plot of the next even more.

what? thats impossible. the last final destination movie was called THE FINAL destination for a reason. meaning its the FINAL movie in the series, they would have called it final destination 4 if there was gonna be another film after that.

You'd think that, wouldn't you?
So do many other people. I've read people's comments and thoughts on other websites saying they thought the title should have been called Final Destination 4 (or at least that with a subtitle).
