Ok, the turntable has now stopped spinning and Round 5 is officially done and dusted, sadly jj looks to have gone missing again and I can only assume Cap is off on one of his murderous rampages but with a little luck he'll quit clowning around and rejoin us at some point. 8. Tracy Chapman - Give Me One Reason

Weird is relative.
1. Brahms - Piano Concerto No. 2, Movement 4

Magnificent. Very much appreciating the classical selections from @ahwell.

2. Wisdom - War of Angels

I like this because I find it catchy and it reminds me of the Lord of the Rings universe.

3. Hues Corporation - There He Is Again

Short and snappy and lots of fun. Nice choice, @pahaK.

4. The Jarmels - A Little Bit of Soap

Likeable bouncy oldie about heartbreak.

5. Neu! - negativland

Some of this is kind of grating, but there's good meatier parts too, and so for me it sounds like one of those instrumental pieces I like to put on while I just tune out and chill. Already played the entire thing twice.

6. Tracy Chapman - Give Me One Reason

A pleasant listen.

7. Losa - Church of Pitted Vipers

Not what I'd normally listen to, but the emotion here is relatable; we've all been there at least once...

8. Alexisonfire - This Could Be Anywhere In The World

Eh, this one's not for me.

Round 7 nom:

My Morning Jacket - Highly Suspicious

A system of cells interlinked
Arg!!! I forgot to nominate!! GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

Women will be your undoing, Pépé
The Jarmels - A Little Bit of Soap A happy little ditties about a sad experience

Tracy Chapman - Give Me One Reason While I'm so-so with Chapman, I do LOVE this song

Wisdom - War of Angels some serious riffs in this one

Hues Corporation - There He Is Again a bit of funk, very nice

Brahms - Piano Concerto No. 2, Movement 4 it salves AND revives!

Alexisonfire - This Could Be Anywhere In The World was always on the fence about this one

Losa - Church Of Pitted Vipers A little repetitive but solid all the same

Neu! - negativland did not work for me

Next Round:

Godsmack - Cryin' Like A B#tch

1. Hues Corporation - There He Is Again
Such a groovy song. Been listening to it quite a few times since I watched Blacula some months ago.

2- Losa - Church Of Pitted Vipers
Can't say how good it is yet but me adding the album to my Spotify playlists is a good sign. Kinda like Eyehategod but with less hate.

3. Brahms - Piano Concerto No. 2, Movement 4
There are many good sequences on this and as a whole I rather enjoyed it. What I don't get is why did Brahms (and all the other classical composers, I suppose) had to cram so many ideas on a single piece instead building multiple more uniform pieces. I don't like how things change every few seconds and nothings has time to grow.

4. Wisdom - War of Angels
A bit generic power metal. Not bad but doesn't really leave that much of an impression either.

5. Tracy Chapman - Give Me One Reason
I'm not that much into blues. Tracy has a good voice and the song isn't bad but I wouldn't really listen to this.

6. Alexisonfire - This Could Be Anywhere In The World
That screamer is quite bad and I usually don't like these something-core bands anyways. Clean parts aren't too bad though.

7. The Jarmels - A Little Bit of Soap
I don't know what the genre is called but I don't really like this style. It's not terrible but a bit too sweet and naive sounding (or something).

8. Neu! - negativland
How about no. There's absolutely nothing happening in these almost ten minutes. This review hails from true Negativland.

Hmm, this is a very interesting thought... Brahms has five main themes in the piece, and this is only the fourth movement, so I can totally someone being turned off by it. That said, I think multiple listenings helped me a lot when getting into a piece, or else, yes, it can be a bit much.
