1. Therion - Schwartzalbenheim
Therion in their best line-up. Such a great group of singers and the band is really tight too. Very good mix of metal and some classic / opera influences.
2. Concrete Blonde - The Beast
Whoever wrote those drums should be banned from writing music (or if the drummer can't play anything more varied just get a new drummer). Other than that it's really good song.
3. Seether - Driven Under
Pretty good depressing Gothic grunge or something. Maybe I should nominate something depressing too?
4. Yoko Takahashi - The Cruel's Angel Thesis
Not the best anime theme (at least I think it is such) but just like The Bangles below it's really easy to listen.
5. The Bangles - Hazy Shade of Winter
Not the best song by The Bangles but still easy on the ears. Would probably become stale in a while but every once in a while it's just fine.
6. JINJER - I Speak Astronomy
Not even nearly as good as the previous Jinjer. There's no room for the singer to shine and the band sounds just like your average metalcore group (it gets better towards the end when they slow down though).
7. The Swell Season - Feeling the Pull
Really simple and really short. Like The Bangles above this isn't bad but probably has too little going on to last a heavy rotation.
8. Comus - Song to Comus
There are some interesting sequences but they must have used way too much drugs drugs drugs drugs drugs drugs drugs...
9. Gaelic Storm - Scalliwag
Not my kind of folk music. Hate that percussion sound and verses sound kinda too hectic.
10. Night Club - Schizophrenic
Besides a pretty (I guess, the make-up is terrible) chick in straightjacket there's not much to celebrate.
11. Schnittke - Concerto Grosso #1, Rondo
Umm, this sounds mostly like a random noise to me (perhaps now I know how some of my more extreme metals sound those who aren't used to such music).
