German Fairytale movie 80s

It's a German movie I watched in the 80s. A woman falls in love with a man that can turn himself in animals. In a lion for example. I think he was cursed. She betrayes him somehow and he turns into a Bird/Pigeon.
She finds him with asking help from the moon. She also has to fight a giant snake.
