Women will be your undoing, Pépé
Thanks you kindly.
Yes that one is a BIG favorite among me and my movie-friends. Particularly John Hurt and the ending. But all of it really. It might have ended up even higher for me but that I thought the Mia Wasakowska part was a little rote and had been done in other movies already.
Heartbreaker of a cut for me. And fully agree about the ending and the entirety of the film itself. Mia's episode did seem almost a distraction to the flow of things, though it did set a kind of counterbalance to it as well.

Women will be your undoing, Pépé
As I said in the very beginning and will reiterate, to our Wonderful, Wonderful Host @SpelingError and the Magician Behind the Curtain @Yoda, The Ayatollahs of Rock n Rollas,

And to my fellow MoFos,
My Love, My Esteem, My Admiration, and Appreciation!

And if I may, my final words on the final three:

My # 1, at #3? Oh

3. The Grand Budapest Hotel (2014, Wes Anderson) 398 points

Deputy Kovacs: Did he just throw my cat out of the window?

Had never been a fan of Anderson. I had struggled through many of his movies, from the very first: Bottle Rocket, until I had simply given up on him somewhere around Darjing. His humor seemed a little too off-kilter and awkward for my tastes, and things always seemed to drag to a near standstill for me. Finally, accepting the fact that, apparently, Anderson was not for me.

Then, on an impulse, having read a couple of favorable reviews here, I took a chance on Budapest, and for me, EVERY thing worked this time around. I laughed; I got caught up in the quirky eccentricities of each character, the pacing was ideal, and the imagery was fantastic to behold. With every rewatch, I fell more and more in love with this movie. At one point posting "It's official, this is a 5 out of 5 popcorn for me."

2. Mad Max: Fury Road (2015, George Miller) 436 points

Quite the very impressive Revival of the Mad Max saga that I hated cutting but knew it'll still place high, though I never imagined it'd be at #2. F@ckin BRAVO MoFo!!

#1 and my #10

1. Parasite (2019, Bong Joon-ho) 521 points

I've been a fan of Director Bong Joon Ho and an even bigger fan of the father played by Kang-ho Song since I first saw him playing The Weird in The Good, The Bad & The Weird and here we get a wonderful blend of genres that Ho has done extraordinary work in, creating something funny, dark, and as we proceed deeper within, disturbing. But what a ride it is!

Huh? I'm a huge fan since 2016. It kinda fits other sensitive films on my list. I'm not twisted in the least. This is just a disguise to get MovieGal's heart. I'm a good Christian girl.

Incidentally, am I missing something or where is The Dark Knight Rises? Thought MoFos loved the trilogy.

We share a liking for these twelve movies of your ballot which are part of my extended Top 80 list of the decade.
Three out of these 12 made my ballot too:
1. The Grand Budapest Hotel (my #5)
10. Parasite (my #24)
14. Phantom Thread (my #16)

Not bad overlap...

All good people are asleep and dreaming.
Did someone have Sorry We Missed You on their list?

Anyways, I liked how my 2010s selections went together. Unlike The Westerns list when I discovered that I really like Westerns, but don't love them.

And a brilliant disguise it is.

And it seems not a lot of love for the finale of a strong trilogy.

Looks like our ballots had six in common with an additional five films that I've seen and liked but didn't vote for. That's kind of a surprising amount of overlap considering how I usually felt about the films you picked for HOFs.

22. Ernest & Celestine (2012) #256

Loving Ernest & Celestine is one of the very few things Minio and I have in common.

Who had the most films in the countdown? I had 10/25.

Just for fun I added up the placements for all of my ballot movies. The total is 8535

The lower that number is the more popular one's choices were. The higher that number is, the further away one's ballot choices were from the countdown.

LOL
I'm guessing it's how your noms are ones I already love or, in E&C, discover and fall in love with; there are all kinds of an overlap, BUT not so much when I try to pick something, which, yes, pretty much sucked for you. And bless you, darlin, for enduring that.

And, speaking of Minio, it always pleasantly surprises me those wonderful, rare overlaps that occur when normally there is none.
