On a very old laptop now, which will work for movieforums but it's having trouble loading youtube, so I've got that on headphones through my phone.

Tough round! Good songs, guys!!

1. The Zombies - Time of the Season
One of my fav songs of all time.

2. The Specials - Ghost Town
Another one of my favs, it's a very close second for me.

3. Aretha Franklin - (You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman
Great song from a lady with an amzing set of pipes.

4. Big Data - Dangerous
New for me and I dig it!!

5. Eddie Murphy - Party all the Time
I'm quite fond of this song. It often comes up as a bad 80s song but I disagree. It's a banger!

6. Chris Knight - Down The River
Never heard of this guy. I guess this is also country, but for some reason I can handle it.

7. Billy Strings - Watch It Fall
I like the banjos but the vocals are a touch too country for me.

8. Amorphis - Silver Bride
I never could get into Amorphis...

9. China Dolls - The Dog Song
LOL...Happy and fun...quite hilarious!

10. Liz Callaway - Once Upon A December
I have tough time with the musical style....

If it's not too late, my Round 12 nom is:
Not even close to being too late - you still had a whole 3hrs and a little bit of the window remaining

3. Stevie Nicks - Edge of Seventeen
4. The Zombies - She's Not There
5. Sabbat - Paint the World Black
6. Concrete Blonde - Bloodletting (The Vampire Song)
7. Bloc Party - Price of Gas
8. Steve Wariner - Life's Highway
9. Nogizaka46 - Yoake Made Tsuyogaranakute mo Ii

1 Concrete Blonde - Bloodletting (The Vampire Song) - One of my favorite CB tunes. My band used to play a cover of this in the 90s...

2 Plastic Machine - Elle S'Imagine (Night version) - I almost put this at #1, but it didn't quite knock CB off the throne. Really great, though.

3 Badfinger - Day After Day - My nom gets kicked down to #3 this round. Oh well.

4 Sabbat - Paint the World Black - Grew on me as I listened. Some minor quibbles with the production, but overall, really liked this.

5 Nogizaka46 - Yoake Made Tsuyogaranakute mo Ii - I listen off and on at work to the round, and this ended up stuck in my head for a bit. I liked the sentiment of the lyrics and the video was fun.

6 Dire Straits - Sultans of Swing - Great tune, but I am plum sick of it at this point. Way overplayed.

7 Stevie Nicks - Edge of Seventeen - Same here. I have heard this too many times, and Nick's voice sets my teeth on edge sometimes.

8 The Zombies - She's Not There - I liked the other Zombies tune more.

9 Bloc Party - Price of Gas - Vocal killed this one for me

10 Mobb Deep - Animal Instinct - Couldn't get into this one.

11 Steve Wariner - Life's Highway - We know how this goes.

My penultimate nom:
Weedeater - It Is What It Is

I feel like this is usually split between people posting classics because they're trying to "win" and people who want to expose other people to stuff they like and may not have heard.

I assume this bifurcation has been belabored over and over in the past before.

It's fair, I'm not nuts about the vocals (though I mind them less as I hear them more). But everything else from Bloc Party is so good. Like, check out this bet, from 2:25 on:

Yeah, creates a nice mix of songs at times though and over the years there's quite a few 'new to me' artists I've delved deeper into after one of their tracks has been nominated.

If the title of this thread was "An unappreciated/obscure song for October" my choices would be different but it ain't. I wouldn't call many of my picks classics but most of them will be from established acts because that's what I listen to. I'm not that immersed in music that I know tons of random bands who have less than 10k views on YouTube. I nominate music that I like. Simple as that.
