Man, that was a lot of catching up, and by catching up, I mean hitting "Page Down" a lot of times. Sorry, but I couldn't get online since yesterday.

Anyway, I saw Amadeus in *checks Letterboxd* 2012. I remember liking it well enough; it was ok. I thought Abraham was great, but remember having some issues with Hulce's performance. Anyway, I haven't seen it since and obviously, it didn't came close to making my list.

As for Raging Bull, well, it's part of my Scorsese conundrum, in that I typically don't care that much about his films or fail to connect with them. In this case, I remember seeing this probably in the late 90s or early 2000s. I think I liked it, but the thing is that I literally don't remember *anything*. That's kinda the thing I have with Scorsese. I typically see his films, like them, but then they don't stick with me. Same applies to Goodfellas, which I'm pretty lukewarm about and haven't seen in more than 10 years [bookmark this for when it appears in the Top 10], or Casino, which I remember liking quite a bit and haven't seen in more than 10 years. It's a weird thing because I respect and admire the man. I love to see his interviews, and he seems like a very down-to-Earth guy, but his films usually leave me cold. One notable exception is Hugo, which is my favorite of his, and a film I truly love.

My Summary:

Seen: 43/52
My list: 3/25

My List

Random list facts:
  1. 33 of the 52 films weren't on the 2010 list.
  2. Of the other 19, only 3 improved their ranking. The other 16 went down.
  3. 1990 is the decade with most entries (11 in total)
  4. There are 4 directors so far with multiple entries (Wilder, Cameron, Spielberg, PTA)

You can't make a rainbow without a little rain.
I watched Amadeus for the Musical Artists HoF, but while I enjoyed the music, but I didn't really like the movie.

I watched Raging Bull for the Sports Film Tournament, but it was only okay for me. I don't like boxing, and the story didn't really hold my interest much, but I didn't hate it, which was better than I expected.

INCEPTION!

No, wait...

Vertigo
Fargo

...or some other movies ending in "o."

No, wait...

INCEPTION!

The joke used to be that Fight Club was Persona for bros. It's a fine film and I make a point to never judge a film by its imitators. The worst thing about it might be that it convinced too many people that "Where Is My Mind?" is the best Pixie song. (It's "Tame", btw.)
Tame is my least favorite off of Doolittle. It's either Here Comes Your Man or Dead.

I tried to vote as much as possible for actual favourites, not submit a list of best movies ever made. They're not necessarily the same thing.
Sure there are differences between "favorite" and "best." One of those differences is that I don't give a crap about what's best. I'm voting favorite every time.
These. Going along with this. Therefore I'm quite sure that at least seven of mine won't make this list at all, maybe more. But then my favorites will remain my favorites. Until another comes along that is so good to me that it can't help but bump one of them off.

Loved both Amadeus and Raging Bull but neither made my list.

19. The Searchers #97
1. To Kill a Mockingbird #85
25. Die Hard #63

Have seen 39 of these beauties.

The Dark Knight Rises

Tame is my least favorite off of Doolittle. It's either Here Comes Your Man or Dead.
If "I Bleed" isn't at least your number two, then you're doing it wrong.

I wouldn't call Burn After Reading sleepy.
"Sleepy" in the sense of they are not being commonly mentioned as GOAT candidates.

I think that Ladykillers and True Grit are the only two Coen films that wouldn't otherwise qualify for any top film list.

My first thought was The Shining and Apocalypse Now, although I would expect both to be higher.

Some more left-field choices: Dead Man or My Neighbour Totoro. I really doubt either make it now though. Maybe one of the Lord of the Rings films?

Also I'm starting to get the feeling there's going to be some truly shocking misses. Like in the case of people thinking "I would have voted for it but figured it didn't need my points." And tons of people thinking that way.

Definitely will be! I still have 63 on my list that are "sure" to make it.

We'll have to have a nice memorial service for the rejects once the countdown is over.
