Welcome to the human race...
I've never even heard of Music!
It's when people use their voices and inanimate objects to create distinct sequences of sounds, but that's not important right now.

What a strange year 2020 was for cinema! I've seen very few of the films nominated, except for Mank. I do want to see The Father.

I don't know whether the Globes are as PC/SJ as are the Oscars, so it'll be interesting to see what wins at the Golden Globes (Is one allowed to say "wins" any more?).

LOL. I looked it up on imdb and Music is directed by Sia and stars Kate Hudson as a woman who is newly sober when she receives news that she is to become the sole guardian of her half-sister named Music, a young girl on the autism spectrum. It has a rating of 4.2 on imdb.

Considering how often the picks overlap, don't be surprised. This year they nominated three women for Best Director (prior to that, only five women had been nominated ever) so I'm guessing that fits your definition.

Don't worry, I know all about it. It's been getting a lot of advertising here since Sia is Australian - gotta support the locals and all. Have heard it get a bad rap because it's a problematic depiction of autism (probably explains the low IMDb rating too) - that and it looks kinda obnoxious, but the Globes love musicals so there you go. They even nomnated Hamilton and that's a four-year-old recording of a theatrical performance.

Can't judge it by the Globes, they're notorious for making some fairly boneheaded picks.

Still wild how the only 2020 film to crack the IMDb top 250 at all was Hamilton, though I guess like a good chunk of the movies on there it gets by on having a passionate fanbase.

I thought they usually line up close to Oscars though.

There's noticeable overlap, sure (as there is with every awards body), but when the Globes diverge, they diverge.

Very, very weak year.

I hope Fincher gets his first Oscar despite Mank being one of his weakest films and being divisive.

Tenet wasn’t that good so no complaints, it will get some technical oscars I guess.

If only Nolan made a movie as good as Dunkirk and inception instead of tenet, he could have gotten the award this year..

Welcome to the human race...
I can imagine Mank riding some kind of "love letter to cinema/art" narrative to success (especially with the whole "directing my late father's screenplay verbatim" angle that Fincher has) so I suppose that's worth taking into consideration when making your guesses (though that also makes it a boring favourite that might get enough backlash to lose out anyway).
