John Ford

Sorry if I'm rude but I'm right
The Quiet Man (1952) is probably my favourite John Ford movie.
Funny because it was mark f's favorite, too, so there might be something to it. Personally, it's one of my least favorite Ford films.
The answer as to the best Ford film starts and ends with The Grapes of Wrath
That about sums it up but Ford is much more than just The Grapes of Wrath.

It's funny this thread has my old post saying I haven't seen a single Ford. I've seen 38 now.

Here are all 38 of them with my ratings (out of 5.0):

Look, I'm not judging you - after all, I'm posting here myself, but maybe, just maybe, if you spent less time here and more time watching films, maybe, and I stress, maybe your taste would be of some value. Just a thought, ya know.

Mark had good taste. I’m aware Ford is much more then Grapes of Wrath, but to me it’s it’s his crowning achievement. It’s up there with Stagecoach, Liberty Valance, and The Searchers.
I’ve seen 15 of his films so far, but he’s taken a backseat lately as I comb through France, Italy and Japan’s best directors.
