MY Work!

28 days...6 hours...42 minutes...12 seconds
Here are my picks for the best of 2007.

I still have some more to see though...

10. 1408

A refreshing and scary film that did not have to rely on gore.

9. HOT FUZZ

A perfect parody of action films that nailed everything right.

8. SUNSHINE

Beautiful and gripping. One of the most beautiful films of 2007

7. DARJEELING LIMITED

Just as off beat, heartfelt and colourful as every other Wes Anderson film. Where it lacks with plot it makes up for in style.

6. 300

An early favourite still makes it to the top ten. It's bad ass and a step towards the future in filmmaking.

5. RATATOUILLE

Best animated film of recent years. A perfect reason to buy a new Blu-Ray player.

4. NO COUNTRY FOR OLD MEN

It didn't win best picture for nothing. Thrilling and chilling at the same time.

3. THERE WILL BE BLOOD

A performance for the ages with confident direction. The music alone makes the a top ten film.

2. JUNO

This year's Little Miss Sunshine. It's funny, charming and depressing all in one.

1. GRINDHOUSE

Never have I ever had so much fun at the movies then I did with Grindhouse. The movie, the audience and myself were all in the same mode; high powered entertainment.

Biggest Surprise: Live Free or Die Hard

Biggest Disappointment: Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End

Was Good, Could Have Been Better: Transformers

Worst Movie Of The Year: Epic Movie

Suspect's Reviews

Pure perfection! ^^

Very nice.

I'm the type of girl.....
1. Juno
2. Reign Over Me
3. No Country For Old Men
4. Atonement
5. Waitress
6. Ratatouille
7.3:10 to Yuma
8. Michael Clayton
9. Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber Of Fleet Street
10. The Assassination Of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford.

I'm not sure if this will be any good but here goes. I haven't seen every movie that came out last year, but of the ones I have seen here are my top ten.

10. Pirates of the Caribbean 3

Sue me. But I really loved all three and if they make three more I'll love those as well. I just simply don't expect that much from these types of films. I'm looking to be entertained and this movie more than does that. If I'm wrong than so are the other gazillion people that went and saw this movie.

9. 28 Weeks Later

Really all I can say is I love zombie movies, whether they be fast movers or the slow shufflers. I don't care. Not as good as the first one, but it could have been a hell of a lot worse.

8. I Am Legend

I haven't read the book, probably won't. I was entertained (sensing a theme here?) and even scared a few times which is hard for any movie to do to me. So that right there is worth the price of admission. So the CGI wasn't great, so the ending was predictable. So what? I love Will Smith and he had me rooting for him.

7. Smokin Aces

Not to sound to weird or anything but I have this thing for Jeremy Piven, I can't explain it but I just like the guy. The movie itself was a lot of fun to watch, I bet movies like this are pretty fun to make as well, with all those people involved. These 3 here were just over the top and I wish they would have been in the film more.

6. Eastern Promises

I don't know what has gotten into Cronenberg lately but the last 2 movies of his that I have seen, both starring Viggo Mortensen are just simply fantastic! His movies used to be a little more, shall we say organic? And the last 2 he's done have just been stellar drama's. A History of Violence was the first and now we have Eastern Promises. If there's anybody out there that thinks Viggo can't act I challenge you to watch both of these films and then we'll chat.

5. Zodiac

I knew very little about this story so I left it to Fincher to capture my interest. And did he! This man just knows how to make movies, I learned a lot about these crimes and even did a little reading after on the Zodiac killer. What a story it is and probably will never be solved. I hope he makes a movie about the Green River killer from my neck of the woods, I live literally about a half a mile from the river and have fished there as well. Its spooky to think of sometimes.

4. Black Snake Moan

I'm not going to be able to do this film much justice with just a paragraph. I will say this, to dismiss this movie simply because Christine Ricci gets naked would be a mistake. There's a powerful message there and to me its that even the hopeless can be saved, or can save themselves given a little time and effort from someone that tries to help. Also hearing Samuel sing was not unpleasant in the least.

3. Rataouille
Wow, that's my totally objective review of the film. Pretty good stuff eh? Good thing you only have to pay me a quarter for my 2 cents. Seriously though I'm not surprised I enjoyed this as much as I did, its the same guy that did The Incredibles and I really love me some Incredibles.

2. Transformers

Back to my childhood jiggety jig! Look I know there's a lot of folks around here that take shots at Micheal Bay but thats ok. He just isn't your cup of tea. He is definitely mine though. I enjoy most of his movies and this one right now is on top of the pile. I grew up watching the original Transformers in all their glory and I couldn't care less how much they changed that cartoon this movie was a freaking blast!
Oh, and she's pretty hot too...

Again Highly entertained! That's what a movie really needs to be for me.

Annnnd Drum roll please!

1. 300

This is the coolest movie I've seen since Sin City. I loved every second and I watched it again as soon as it was over. I'm just a big 36 year old boy most days and this Gladiator movie is perfect for me. I wouldn't be at all surprised if I'm still goofy over this flick ten years from now when I'm recomending it to friends.
