Legend in my own mind

Kings Speech (2010)

Overall it is a simple film that is brought to life by superb cinematogrpahy, great acting and wonderful music, that brings in a feel good factor in a period of crisis for the British isles.

Metropolis (1927)

As a sci-fi fan I remembered I lacked one rather important film in my watching history. Very nice movie, certainly a masterpiece especially given the time it was made. 10/10

Gli specialisti (1969)
aka The Specialists

Quite mediocre spaghetti western by Corbucci. It's quite beautifully shot but I didn't find the story (or characters) that interesting. The ending was kind of disappointing as well, especially after The Great Silence.

Return to Return to Nuke 'Em High Volume 2 (Lloyd Kaufman, 2017)
Just over three years after we were treated to the 21st Century reimagining of Class of Nuke 'Em High and a Kickstarter fund to complete post-production, Lloyd Kaufman finally unleashes the conclusion to the Return to Nuke 'Em High saga. If you don't know or don't watch Troma films, this one's not for you. But if you do, I think there should be a subgenre of exploitation films, which I like to call "WTF" films because this was the best one I've seen in recent years. Loads of excesses in the departments with the opening paying tribute to Brian De Palma's Carrie and a hilarious non-story scene thrust in the film.

Sam Peckinpah: Man of Iron - Directors' Cut - 10/10

This is ELEVEN hours long, but great nonetheless. Took me a few days to see it. It used to be on YouTube, but no longer there, but I did paste one full interview down below.

That's the America I know and the one no one cared about, then Trump came.

Sleuth 1972 Directed by Joseph L. Mankiewicz

Classic murder Mystery / Thriller, very witty dialogue between Caine & Olivier.

I agree. A tour de force by two of our greatest actors, Lawrence Olivier and Michael Caine.
