Interesting Matt, but I'm not totally sure what you mean by living in a director's world? Do you mean being in his shoes and having his career?

Initially I thought of a director's movies, but feel free to take it the other way.

I think that's more interesting of the two choices. I'll think about my answer and post back.

I'd love to live in the world of Powell & Pressburger.

Thats a dangerous question. I wonder if this is threadbait to see if Mr Minio would pop in?
Jon Favreaus MARVEL world.

I think I'd have to go with Anders Thomas Jensen. It may perhaps not be the most pleasant world to live in in every way and may not have the most poetic landscapes, but it would have plenty of darkly funny absurd moments, quirky characters and a unique charm to it.

I'm going to take Director's World to mean any one movie that a director creates a memorable world for. So I would say the world of American Graffiti. Lots of cool cars, hot chicks, great music and everything is more laid back.

I don't know a lot of directors by their work, but for this question I'd say Frank Capra (wasn't he like a king of feel good movies with happy endings)? So I guess I'd like to live in his world.

James Ivory, if I could be some rich English Lord in early to mid 20th century England
