Whats the best movie ending of all time?

Tools

I'd probably say Se7en, Dark Knight, Star Trek II: The Wrath Of Khan, Empire Strikes Back, Citizen Kane, The Mist, Pulp Fiction, Reservoir Dogs, Fellowship Of The Ring and Rocky

the best ending ever probably belongs to the godfather part I, the sequence of deaths is awesome as hell, followed by the execution of the rat...perfect!

Casablanca is certainly up there...

Chinatown, Casblanca, The 400 Blows, Vertigo, Goodfellas (Ya Joe Pesci shooting away, love it - take that rat!), The Godfather, 2001: A Space Odyssey, Rashomon, all great films. Ah I might as well add in The Third Man, nice long shot. I'm sure there are others, these are just the ones off the top of my head.

Oh ya, definitely have to agree with re93animator on that ending of The Vanishing (the original, not the lame ass American remake)

the departed

red dragon ....the last line...perfect

american history x was good, but in a different way...not that it makes me happy or anything, but it was appropriate and made the message of the movie come full circle...

swordfish i thought had an intrestng ending cant believe i forgot to mention it

Would you consider it a film that has one of the best endings of all time, though?

I thought Swordfish was kind of trite, really. Just sort of a thrown together collection of also-ran scenes...

1. The Shawshank Redemption
2. Big Fish
3. The Blair Witch Project
4. Labyrinth
5. Donnie Darko

Off the top of my head, those are my choices for films with the greatest/my favorite endings in all of cinema that I've seen. If I put more thought into it, however, I may come up with a slightly different list, but those five spring to mind right away.

Pulp Fiction didn't realy have an ending because the ending was like in the middle of the film.

Will your system be alright, when you dream of home tonight?
The Departed's ending just made me sit back and go, whoa...

But Casino still does it for me... House of the Rising Sun is a very good song plus voice overs by DeNiro and Joe are very good.

Here it is:

Oh yeah, Bergman's The Seventh Seal had a great ending.

\m/ Fade To Black \m/

*wipes eyes*

This is the best and sadest ending of a movie.
