This was a very interesting thread to look through. I was getting all excited here in the middle of the night at 02:30 AM.

...And then the little bastard died on us. God dammit. Can't sleep now that's for sure.

Dang that really sucks what happened to the bird. But the effort you put in to care for it was admirable, it would have probably died hours after you found it if you would've just left it there. You gave it a fighting chance.
