I can't believe no one metioned any scenes from Blackhawk Down.
Also, the fight sequences in Ong Bak 2 were better than Ong Bak.
Tony Jaa, Jet Lee and Donnie Yen always deliver.

MY favourite fighting seen has to in Ip man, when he fights off 10 men

Sit Ubu Sit.... Good Dog
Really almost all of the Jet Li fight scenes are amazing, especially Fist of Legend.

Basically the last 30 minutes of 13 Assassins was so awesome.

Yes the beginning of Saving Private Ryan is great but the best action scene in the movie was Private Jackson (Barry Pepper) with his sniper rifle in the tower. Also a really sad part because Jackson was my favorite character in the movie. Starts at around the 1:00 mark in the clip.

The ending to Legends Of The Fall when Anthony Hopkins pulls out the shotgun, not a long scene but an emotional one especially after sitting through the movie.

More with Anthony Hopkins how about him and Alec Baldwin fighting off Bart the Bear in The Edge. The part I was thinking of specifically starts around 4:15 in the clip.

I also tried to find a clip of Nathan Fillion fighting the Deer or whatever in Slither but couldn't find one.

The ending of Serenity has a awesome action scene with Nathan Fillion fighting Chiwetel Ejiofor aka the Operative. Sorry but it's the best clip of the scene I could find.

But if we are just going for ridiculously awesome than how about ZOMBIE FIGHTS SHARK in Zombie aka Zombi 2 a WTF Italian Zombie movie.

Filmgirl already touched on Ong Bak with the foot chase scene, but I felt that this scene is of the most memorable of the fight sequences in the film:

Couldn't find the non dubbed version, not that the dialogue really matters much in this scene..

&feature=related

This scene is a ballet of violence with it's creative mix of Muay Boron, taekwondo and gymnastic techniques. It's not super realistic or anything, but very few films have shown the power, speed and technique of Muay Thai in such a style.

I can pick out quite a lot from the Bourne franchise. However, this one is a particular favourite of mine. It's basically Bourne free running in order to get to Desh, and I believe it was inspired by the similar sequence at the beginning of Casino Royale (which, ironically enough, itself is inspired somewhat by Bourne franchise). I felt that Bourne outdid it though. The chase is exhilarating and is capped off by a fericious fight scene. The video only shows you part of the chase, its actually longer.

Honourable mentions to the Ripley vs B!tch scene at the end of Aliens and Luke Skywalker vs Darth Vader at the end of Return Of A Jedi. Sorry, but it was very exciting to finally see Vader get his arse handed to him.

Sit Ubu Sit.... Good Dog
District B13 and B13 Ultimatum both has some good action/fight scenes but my favorite by far is the Parkour scene from District B13.

^ How the French do Parkour.

Below is how the Americans do Parkour.

Kung Fu Hustle has tons of awesome choreography.

Two more though.

Jurassic Park when the T-Rex first gets free and attacks the car.

Jurassic Park: The Lost World, "Mommy's very angry". That whole scene gets me on edge, especially when Eddie is trying to help them out after the first Rex attack, even though I've seen the scene a thousand times.

Matrix Reloaded, two main fight scenes, when fighting loads of agent smiths and the french dudes Hench men.

While those are cool scenes, I know that when I look for awesome fight scenes, I look for real people in them!

I just think it's so much more impressive when it's people and wires and choreography making up a fight scene and not computer animated characters. The scenes you're referring to are fun to watch, but they just don't impress me. That's why film was so much better before CGI.

I think you are being a little unfair on the Matrix here. The actual story cleverly allows for unrealistic action, floating, slow motion bullets because they are in "The Matrix", an unreal virtual world , as opposed to films that try to do all that without any reason for it.

That said, the Matrix Reloaded fight vs 100 Smiths uses a little too much CGI when the third group of Smiths pour in.

An Auto-Bot that reviews movies....
The Sherlock Holmes (Downey Jr.) fight scenes in both movies thus far..... just sublime. The use of slow motion and the fluid nature of the real-time fights are just wicked.
