Best And Worst Of 2012...So far.

Tools

Smells mystical, doesn't it?

What I do know is Snow White and the Huntsman is my most disappointing (probably not worse) movie so far. Killer idea, awesome cast minus Stewart, just terrible execution and flimsy story telling.
You weren't expecting failure? I haven't seen it but.. any crew that casts Stewart as a lead, especially as Snow White, can't be all that able.

The Raid?So many of you are mentioning this movie,I've never heard about it.

I would definitely go with The Avengers as the best of the summer. As for the worst, I think I would almost give it to The Dark Knight Rises. I know I will probably be screamed at for my comment but, I'm sorry. Check out my reasoning below!

I love The hunger games and the dark knight rises.

Heres how I'd rank the 2012 films I've seen thus far

1. Argo
+
2. Moonrise Kingdom

3. Rampart
+
4. Prometheus

5. Jeff, Who Lives at Home

6. The Dark Knight Rises

7. The best. Exotic Marigold Hotel

8. The Avengers
-
9. Taken 2

I made this post about my most anticipated 2012 films:

Here's a top 5:

The Master

Doesn't get released in Belgium until early January 2012.

Rust & Bone

Best film I've seen so far this year.

Cogan's Trade (September 2012).

This got renamed: Killing Them Softly. Doesn't get released in Belgium until early Dec.

The Grandmasters

Don't even know when this will be released here.

Gravity

Pushed back to 2013.

And some other ones:
  • Argo (Affleck) - yet to watch
  • Brave (Andrewd & Chapmen) - nice, I liked it.
  • Cosmopolis (Cronenberg) - This was *****.
  • The Dark Knight Rises (Nolan) - Liked it, but it has its flaws.
  • Dark Shadows (Burton) - This was *****.
  • The Dictator (Charles) - Has its moments, but really not that good.
  • Django Unchained (Tarantino)
  • The Great Gatsby (Luhrmann) - pushed back to 2013.
  • The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey (Jackson)
  • Inside Llewyn Davis (the Coen brothers) - pushed back to 2013.
  • Les Miserables (Hooper) - doesn't get released in Belgium until Feb 2013.
  • Lincoln (Spielberg)
  • Moonrise Kingdom (W. Anderson) - yet to watch, surprisingly
  • Prometheus (R. Scott) - yet to watch
  • Skyfall (Mendes)
  • Kill Bin Laden (Bigelow) - doesn't get released until early 2013 in Belgium
  • The Wettest County (Hillcoat) - Lawless, yet to watch
  • Great Hope Springs (Frankel) - yet to watch
Pretty crappy year so far...

Out of what I've seen 2012 (US release date), my ratings now:

The Amazing Spider-Man

Ted

The Dark Knight Rises

Snow White and the Huntsman

The Inbetweeners Movie

Annoying the lack of films that I've seen, mainly because the main time I go to the cinema is early summer hence TDKR, TASM and Ted being viewed. Really need to try and see the likes of Looper and The Master then Argo, The Hobbit and Django Unchained when they are released here in the UK.

Zombie Preparedness Expert
Best: Moonrise Kingdom - the only film to earn a perfect 4/4 so far this year.

Worst: Playback - There are good horror, there are good "bad" horror films and then there are terribly bad horror films. This is one that deserves to be buried.
