Best Queen Song

As I stated in the Movie Tab II, I'm a big fan of the rock band Queen. I believe that nearly every single song in their repertoire is worth listening to, and that Freddie Mercury was one of the greatest frontmen ever.

So if you're also a fan of Queen, share your favourite track.

My favourites are...

1. Radio Ga Ga
2. Hammer To Fall
3. Who Wants To Live Forever
4. One Vision
5. Bohemian Rhapsody
6. Another One Bites The Dust
7. We Will Rock You
8. A Kind Of Magic
9. Under Pressure
10. Don't Stop Me Now
11. I Want To Break Free
12. You're My Best Friend
13. Keep Yourself Alive
14. Seven Seas Of Rye
15. Mustapha

Yeah, Princes of The Universe is a great song. For me, the soundtrack for Highlander would, probably, be my favourite Queen album. Not that I have any of them.

Death On Two Legs

That's just off the top of my head. I cut my musical teeth on Queen, among other bands of that time.

They were true innovators. Everything they did on any cut, enhanced the song, made if full and textured, but not crowded.

They used a lot of instruments that aren't normally found on Rock album. Kazoo, harps, violins, ukulele, banjo, jangle piano, harpsichord, marimbas, assorted bells and gongs, harp, koto and more.

Not your garden variety rock band, but you know what? It worked, because they were musicians first, a rock band second. They really cared about their music, and it shows. No wasted space, special effects or noise just for the sake of having it. They hit their stride right around Sheer Heart Attack (1974), and for probably the next 10 years, they nailed it.

And, if there was ever a person born to be in front of an audience, it was Freddie Mercury. One of the most engaging and talented people to ever set foot on stage.

Man, I miss those guys.

When Wayne's World came out, a whole generation of kids heard 'Bohemian Rhapsody' for the first time, and it hit the charts again.

It got as high as #9 in the U.S. during it's initial release (late 75, early 76)

It went to #1 in the U.K. during the same time period.

When Freddie Mercury passed away in 1991, (that still hurts) it recharted, and stayed st #1 in the U.K. for several weeks. (not sure how many)

Then, in 1992, Wayne's World parked it at #2 in the U.S.

Just goes to show, good music spans generations.

Dont Stop me now!

Just sitting listening to Queen now while on the net.

20 years on and I still miss Freddie. Biggest loss in music history. He was a showman, a pop star, a rockstar, and most importantly he was a musician.

My favourites:
The Show Must Go On.
Fat Bottomed Girls.
Breakthrough.
These Are The Days Of Our Lives.
Who Wants To Live Forever.

The list goes on... pretty much all of his music.

I think the fact that when he recorded Days Of Our Lives, he was nearly dead but still gave the fans one last goodbye. What a guy.

A system of cells interlinked
I am partial to Who Wants to Live Forever in its tragic lament. Mercury was something else.
