Outstanding British Film
- Attack The Block
- Senna
- Submarine
- Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy
- Tyrannosaur
This is the most interesting category for me. It'll probably be TTSS, but the other four seems to be much lauded and liked by those who've seen them.

Score is alright, but nothing special imo. Good to see Drive getting nominated. Really hope Winding Refn gets the victory. Definitely deserves it.

Bright light. Bright light. Uh oh.
If you want to see the actual long list of 15 pre-nominees each, you have to click on the link at the top of the first post. The remainder of the first post are only the OP's predictions for the final noms. For example, Dragon Tattoo did make the long list for musical score. The "short list" noms will be announced January 17.

Thought I'd just continue the thread that MM started rather than kick off a new one.

The Artist leads BAFTA nominations
The BAFTA nominations have been announced and unsurprisingly it’s ‘The Artist’ that leads the pack, with 12 nominations.

The BAFTA nominations have been announced and unsurprisingly it’s ‘The Artist’ that leads the pack, with 12 nods.

Just behind is British spy drama ‘Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy’, a film that has been snubbed so far this awards season. Being British however, it is no surprise that British Academy Film Awards have recognised the film.

One Brit who missed out though was 'Peep Show's' Olivia Colman, considered a dead cert for a nod for 'Tyrannosaur'. Her omission prompted a fan backlash on twitter.

Another shock - but a good one - was the appreciation for critically-acclaimed neo-noir ‘Drive’, which picks up a nomination for ‘Best Picture’ ahead of more conventional fare like Steven Spielberg’s ‘War Horse’.

The film’s director Nicolas Winding Refn is also nominated for Best Director and BAFTA darling Carey Mulligan has a shot at Best Supporting Actress for her role in the film.

More Brits who made the cut: Gary Oldman of ‘Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy’ receives his first major nod for Best Actor, while Brit Lynne Ramsey picks up a thoroughly deserved nomination in the director’s category.

Another eyebrow-raiser: Alexander Payne missed out for his directing work on ‘The Descendants’, one of the favourites for the Oscars.

Stephen Fry will host the awards ceremony on Sunday, February 12th at London's Royal Opera House.
Take a look at the full list of nominations below…

Leads the pack and deservedly so, I hope it sweeps, except for Actress which should go to Davis (but will go to Streep). Nice to see Oldman on there, but it is a British awards show so I doubt there'll be an Oscar nomination.

Outstanding British Film
Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy

Was very happy to see that win, as it has been completely missed out in the Best Film at the Oscars...

Otherwise known as the 'pat ourselves on the back for a British film not quite good enough to win the big one'
