I remember one scene where two groups of aristocrats or noble women match up two teenagers and dress them up in stylized rococo costumes and sit them down on a bench next to each other in a weirdly shaped room maybe a theatrical stage, and then hide to look on as the two canoodle.
It looked like it was about Casanova or a Female equivalent. Must have been late 1980s or very early 1990s (pre 1996). Set in Paris or Venice I think maybe 1500-1800ish. Visually similar to dangerous liaisons.
All I remember about it is the very over the top costumes and the pushy nobles.
