I forgot to mention that the sausages + yogurt thing was intermittent fasting, too. 16 hours without eating...

Apparently, intermittent fasting is not as healthy as eating small portions of food often, though. Even if it's healthy food.
I've been in this crossroad my entire life, believe me. In my country the Mediterranean diet is the thing. I've been told my entire life that you should eat small portions, frequently. I've been fasting my entire life, I can't eat breakfast because I wake up too late and my system is in stress to get to work on time. I've been eating two meals a day for 20 years at least, didn't made me lose weight. When I started with English breakfast I started losing weight, I think that was the reason I started to lose weight, breakfast and small meals during the day. But, this specialist and this specialist, and this amazing results in this subreddit seems to disagree with you and me, so, how did you reached that conclusion?

You ready? You look ready.
So I just threw away all my vape gear. This weekend is going to be a wild ride of "don't ****ing talk to me". Nicotine withdrawal is probably one of the worst because it is so insidious. The cravings just sneak in at random, and you feel like you're gonna chip a tooth from gritting if don't give in. At least that's what it has always been for me every time I quit.

Quitting vaping seems far harder than cigs. I just need to get off and stay off. This is the time. I will be successful.

Took me two years to stop smoking so I sympathize. Take just one day at a time. That’s the only thing that worked for me. If I could quit my 2-packs-a-day habit, anyone can, but it’s very hard.

Quit being a punk and Shia LeBeouf do it!

Do you have any smokers/vapestars around you? That makes a big difference, not smelling and seeing it.*

I’m a cold turkey disciple.

I’m skeptical of losing weight from IF. I will still do IF if I’m trying to gain with 4 feedings in 6 hours. It’s not a magic bullet, ime.

It helps me compartmentalize eating, which works with my brain. Which helps with calorie counting, which is the only thing that I find works. Plus, macrophagy 🧐

I just erased a rant.

Yes, cold turkey is the only way to go IMO. Surgical.

Like cutting back on heroin.

I work in a tobacco state, and I'm part of the working class. I'd have an easier time counting the people who don't smoke.

My last cig was this morning around 11am, so I'm on the downward slope now.

When I stopped smoking everyone around me, including my husband, still smoked. And I think I still drank in those days, which made it really hard to stop. My sister-in-law once said I’d never be able to stop & that was galling. (She later developed bladder cancer from smoking.)

My point is just do it, there’s a million reasons not to.

True grit right there. I was lucky to not be around other smokers. Also surprised that I haven’t had issues while having drinks. Thought it would be a big issue.

yeah, as a southern boy who spent my summers with grandparents that stockpiled Marlboros under their bed in cartons, hiding under the truck picking up butts to pretend to smoke with the cousins, I'm really shocked I'm not an addict. or that alcohol didn't take more of a grip than it has, which is mostly only ever enough to post in the "rate your last drink" thread with a buzz. maybe.

I’m lucky that I haven’t had an issue with alcohol, especially in light of how I can go off the deep end with food or other things.

When the mood and time is right, I like to get sideways. I just don’t really have the stamina for it. 4 drinks is about as far as I can get before I’m either too tired or too soggy.

What saved me from alcoholism was the fact that I was only ever a social drinker. My apartment could be full of booze for when friends came over, but I had no desire whatsoever to drink alone.

Eventually I had to stop drinking completely. It got that it made me so very sick. Never missed it for a second & I loved how sharp & acute I was when I was permanently sober.

A right amount of my 20s are awash in fog: 20-27 to be exact.

6 packs, 12 packs, 18 packs, bottles/boxes of wine, 200mL/750mL/1.5L bottles of liquor...I drank it all and as fast as I could. I'd easily knock back a 750mL bottle over the weekends alongside a 6-12 pack of beer.

I did and said a lot of stupid things back then. Often makes me wonder how I still have some of the friends I do.

And this ain’t even counting all the other stupid **** I did 😅

EDIT: Oh God, and don’t forget all the 40s

Don’t beat yourself up. Sounds exactly like my twenties (and most other’s too).

My husband saved me from drugs. He told our friends never to offer me cocaine (he knew the effect it would have on addictive me) & they never did. Thank God.

Too expensive. Ice beer works wonders for less.

I can’t tell you how much Icehouse and Steel Reserve I drank. Then I got over on those Bud Ice 40s.

“Sugar is the most important thing in my life…”
Steel Reserve had a moment.
