2014 Movie Tournament

Bright light. Bright light. Uh oh.
Mark, what do you think of Strange Days?
It's well-worth watching, a solid
movie. It just bites off a bit more than it can chew, so for every bravura scene there's a WTF scene. The so-called mystery is painfully-obvious too, but I think it's the kind of movie you'd like, if you haven't seen it.

I'm surprised at some of these results too.

Eraserhead and McCabe and Mrs. Miller both showed up recently on the 1970s countdown, but they lost to Plan B and Convoy respectively. After reading how much everybody seemed to love these movies, I thought they were practically guaranteed to win their match-ups.

A Woman Under the Influence was also on the 1970s countdown, so I thought it had a good chance to beat Rear Window.

Sometimes it depends a lot on how many people can vote in that match. Not a lot of people had seen Plan B so not a lot of people could vote. I think the person that nominated Plan B and I were the only people that voted in that match. I don't care for Eraserhead and I really liked Plan B, so it got through.

Bright light. Bright light. Uh oh.
I voted against Plan B, and I think cricket did too. I think gbgoodies voted for it. The subject matter had nothing to do with it. It was just so uneventful, so I voted for Eraserhead which I don't like either.

No, I didn't vote in that match-up.

I watched Eraserhead, but I hated it, so I didn't watch Plan B because it was a Spanish movie, and I don't have a good track record with foreign films, so I skipped that match-up. (Just for the record, I would have watched Plan B if I had liked Eraserhead beause it wouldn't have been fair to vote against a movie that I haven't seen.)

Group 4

I keep forgetting if I've voted in particular groups or not.

Me too. I try to vote as soon as the group is posted, but then I want to watch a movie and I keep forgetting what it is and what group it's in.
