I was once MadMan_731/MadMan after the name change, MadMan_7, and TheOmegaMan71. I started out in GD, moved to OT, went back to GD and then spent a lot of time in OT again before finally hanging out in GD for good before the site went down. My last thread there was a MST3K reviewing one that I enjoyed doing. I'll miss RT but I'm starting to move on and in probably another five years or so the memories will start to fade. Good times though.

Eastern Promises came up in a thread, which reminded me of the time even David Cronenberg was creeped out by Fabfunk (for obsessing over Viggo's balls).

This will be a quasi-Spoiler- Viggo is in a bathhouse when two thugs come after him, and suddenly this barely R-rated movie becomes something that will make the MPAA sweat. Not only is it a totally brutal one-on-one fight with Viggo’s fists versus two guys with knives, but ol’ Viggo takes them down through about five to ten minutes of bare-knuckled brawling while COMPLETELY NUDE. And there’s no dodgy photography or editing in this- Viggo’s balls are flying ALL over the place. There’s one moment where he lifts his leg to deliver a roundhouse kick, and I could swear Aragorn’s scrote smacked me in the face about six times. If anybody remembers that totally rough naked shower fight in “Get Rich Or Die Trying”, this one is about twelve times more brutal. Van Damme would never agree to that sort of ball exposure, and he’d never deliver the kind of ass-kicking that results from it. Anyway, those who are expecting THE BEST MOVIE OF ALL TIME from Cronenberg will have to settle for what amounts to an interesting experiment of sorts, and a further evolution of his shooting and editing style. There are several crane shots here, and he retains the same interest in the cold, exterior surfaces of personality-less cities, in addition to an engrossing, unusual story. Also, Viggo’s massive, hairy balls. If you use this, I am Fabfunk.

One of my biggest regrets is not asking Cronenberg about this during the Q&A when I went to see The Brood in a theatre.

Now that we are on the topic of nostalgia, I searched more ‘old things’ that existed on the internet. Do you guys remember the days where you had to disconnect so that your mum, dad, siblings, or any people in your house could make a phone call?? those times were legit hassle moments!

I can still hear that godawful dial up tone sound haha.

Madman. Are you same Madman that was on Kateland? I can't even find that forum anymore. Do you know what happened? Are there any other Kateland refugees around here? Other than you, no one here sounds familiar.

Yeah, I used to post on Kateland some, but I don't think anyone knows exactly what happened there; I knew KE8 had some health problems, so he might have neglected to keep paying for that server as a result, but that's just speculation.

So who else is here from Kateland besides you and Madman? I was wondering if more are here after Kateland went down.
