Taxi Driver hands down for me. I also agree with Yoda that The Departed is better than Infernal Affairs (which I didn't really care for), even if it's not one of Marty's best. It's certainly better than Gangs of New York, Shutter Island and The Aviator in my opinion.

I also love After Hours, The King of Comedy and Mean Streets which haven't been mentioned yet.

I agree with Taxi Driver, but I can't believe you'd have The Departed over The Aviator. There again, I thought The Departed was overrated, while I like The Aviator a lot more than most people seem to. I still haven't gotten over it losing to Million Dollar Baby at the Oscars. Horrid decision.

And do check out THIS existing thread devoted to Marty.

I've seen it; rep to you, sir, for such a fantastic thread. And GoodFellas was a masterpiece, my first Marty film and still one of my favorites of his

Goodfellas for me hands down... I have a hard time between Taxi Driver and Departed for second.

I also thought The Aviator was fantastic. I just have a preference for the two I already mentioned.

It's Raging Bull for me. If you care to know why, you can read THIS.

Gun to my head, I would rate his films as follows:

1. Raging Bull
2. Goodfellas
3. Casino
4. The Last Temptation of Christ
5. Gangs of New York
6. Mean Streets
7. Taxi Driver
8. The King of Comedy
9. Cape Fear
10. The Aviator
11. Shutter Island
12. After Hours
13. The Departed
14. Bringing Out The Dead
15. The Color of Money
16. Kundun

Scorsese has made several superb films. He’s made one, though, that stands out well above the others, one that should be counted among the very best American films, and that’s Goodfellas. I think there’s a case could be made that Goodfellas is the most exhilarating film ever made. I certainly get swept up in its rush of disgusting, homicidal glamour every time, so much so that it must have been at least my tenth watch before I slowed down enough to appreciate that nearly every individual scene in the movie is a small work of genius. I think this is an unimprovable and endlessly enjoyable film.

As for the quite distant second place, I could argue for any of the acknowledged very good movies ffrom his mid-70s-early 80s run. Taxi Driver maybe, Raging Bull perhaps, maybe Mean Streets largely for the use of music.

None of his post-1990 films compare.

from what i saw:

The Departed - least good of Scorsese.

Raging Bull - A masterpiece ,not less good from my choice actually , Just connected with him less.

Taxi Driver -my choice, Huge masterpiece about the "generation" of Vietnam.

Welcome to the human race...
I voted GoodFellas - that would make my top 20. Taxi Driver and Raging Bull would both be in my top 100. The Departed is easily my least favourite Scorsese movie.

No love for Casino. Anyway i'd go with.

1. Raging Bull
2. The Departed
3. Casino
4. Goodfellas
5. Shutter Island
6. Taxi Driver
7. Gangs Of New York

I don't remember asking you a ******* thing!
For me, it's a tie between The Departed and Goodfellas. Both movies are entertaining enough to watch over and over again. Shutter Island comes third on my list, and then The Color of Money. I've yet to see either Taxi Driver or Raging Bull (Don't shoot the 90s kid please lol)

I've got soul but I'm not a soldier
Taxi Driver. Seeing Jodie Foster as a hooker made it for me. Shutter Island coming in second, my brother and I were tripped out during the movie but that's what made it for me as well.
