What movie were you hyped to see, and then hated it after you saw it?

I was very disappointed with The Matrix Reloaded.
It just seemed to much. It was like, "Look what we can do!", kinda action with no solid storyline as the first Matrix had. It could have been better but same as Star Wars: Episode 1 It got too "comic-bookish" and lost the true thills.

Titanic, I was very disappointed in this movie and looked forward to seeing it for a long time.

Comic bookish? So it's good you mean?

Have you read anything by Alan Moore, Frank Miller, Warren Ellis, or Grant Morrison?

I've said it before and I will say it again:

Just because something is illustrated doesn't mean it can't be serious, important literature. Sorry, but this is a pet issue with me, and usually comments like that are assumptive as people who make the comments haven't actually checked out any of the great comic stories (Watchmen, Dark Knight Returns, Ronin, Kingdom Come) and really have no referent for the argument. I'm not saying this is the case here (you may have read these and just not liked them), but it usually is the case.

Give these sagas a chance! I think you will have a different view on Comics after you do

As for hyped films that have dropped the ball big time for me...

The Hulk, definitely, the Hulk.

Star Wars Episode 1 (probably the biggest disappointment for me ever in film)

Matrix Reloaded

I thought the first Matrix movie was one of the best action films out there. I was really looking forward to the MR. I heard bad reviews from it before seeing the movie. But that didn't stop me. Because I could have had a different opinion. Once I saw it I was just shocked. I almost walked out of the room. I have to admit that I slept for like half an hour while the film was playing. The movie was no good.

I haven't even seen Matrix Revolutions. I hear the same crap that I heard with MR. I'll just wait till it comes out on dvd or maybe even on TV.

A Mighty Wind

I really enjoyed Best In Show, Waiting For Guffman , and This Is Spinal Tap.

I would rather go to the Dentist than watch this one again.

And skip the it was to "subtle" comments.

I got it, I just didn't like it.

Actually I'm a fan of Comic Books.

But I also believe there should be a deviding line. Any movie that seems to much like the book doesn't seem to appeal to me, cause most the time I see those moves they turn out really confusing and costs for a poor playwrite.

I gave the Matrix saga a chance, and they hurt my feelings.

Star Wars: Episode 2 seemed to redeem itself from the first one so I'm giving it a second chance.

I figured you gave the Matrix a chance when ya said you didn't like it. Sorry if I get defensive, but there have just been SO many times that "comic bookish' was used as a derisive comment about something when the person had never actually picked up a comic book.

I also thought Clones was a much better movie that menace, I even watched it more than once.

Such as "Teenage-Drama-Skateboarding" movies that seem to be coming out endlessly now-a-days. Yet some truely classic movies seem to have been forgotten.

Never had I witnessed a film before that made me want to rip my eye balls out and throw them at the screen.

The ending made me laugh out loud. I didn't realise people used the excuse they did still in films.

Oh and american version of the ring.

I was bored and dissapointed but in a kind of expectant way. I had seen the japanese versions and was majorly impressed by them as well as nerved the next time the phone rang
American one was over rated cash in bull crap.

Although I say that, I HAD seen the opriginal first and it may have impaired by judgement but all in all I still didn't like it.

It's just a damn shame about the actual film/story/capatalistic trash

I loved "American Psycho" when I read the book, and I thought "This book will never go big screen!" The reason I thought that was because if you had to really bring out the essence of Patrick Bateman's madness, the movie would be a mix between really explicit porn and violence. And that just won't do, will it? I was very reluctant to go see the movie and when I finally did, I was so disappointed.

A movie I was definitely hyped to watch was the first "Tomb Raider" movie. I'm a hardcore Lara Croft freak and when I heard that Angelina Jolie had been cast as Lara, I was thrilled. She's the only one who could have played the part. But when I watched the movie, I was totally disappointed. I thought they kept out too many things about Lara and her past, and a lot of stuff I just thought they had all wrong. I never bought the DVD and I never bothered to watch the sequel.
