The Movies That Made Us

This is a 4 episode docu-series that features 4 blockbuster movies, showing how they were made, the back stories, the financing, and interviews with the actors, directors, and crews. The 4 subjects: Dirty Dancing, Home Alone, Ghost Busters, and Die Hard. Each of these had a struggle for funding, but yet turned out to be mega hits and huge money makers for he studios.

I watched the first 3, and they're very well done-- fascinating if you like behind the scenes stuff. Available on Netflix and possibly streaming services.

Have sat through these also and can definitely recommend. Learned a few new things about each of these, including a couple of real surprises.

Think this series is made by the same people that did the Toys That Made Us, also a netflix series.

This sounds interesting, I'll have to check it out. I was aware that there were a lot of struggles getting Dirty Dancing to the screen, but I didn't know about the other three.
