I am a big Woody Allen fan. I am collecting as many of his films that I can get my hands on and I own a few of his books also. i would like to expand my interest to secondary sources on Woody and his work. I am therefore starting this thread for people to suggest good books, documentaries, journals, magazine, and newspaper articles of interest on Woody's work. I own 44 of his movies and have watched all of them multiple times. I am not altogether uncritical of Woody's personal life and several of his films which I do not think measure up to his talent. That is the source of my interest in starting this thread
If you suggest a book please provide the author, the title, the publisher and the date if possible along with a sentence or two why you are recommending the book. If you want to praise or bash Woody along the way, be my guest. Just don't spoil the books you recommend. I am going to post a list of Woody films in a separate post to give everybody a frame of reference for his films as far as when they were released.
